"Umineko no Naku Koro ni" is a sound novel work by Ryukishi07 (Higurashi). The first episode was released at Comiket 72 on August 17, 2010 and since then a new episode is released at Comikets in summer and winter, so two episodes per year. "Umineko no Naku Koro ni" consists of Episode 1-4:

An anime adaptation based on the visual novel was produced by Studio Deen and aired in Japan between July 2 and December 24, 2009.




There are also manga adaptations for each episode as well as drama cds and novels.

Umineko No Naku Koro Ni ~ Majo To Suiri No Rondo ~ is the visual novel remake for PS3 by Alchemist (Studio).



There is also an upcoming port for PSP, "Umineko no Naku Koro ni Portable 1 & 2".

The fighting game spin-off "Ougon Musou Kyoku" was released for PC and was followed up by an extended Xbox360 port. A sequel will be released for PC at the next Comiket in December 2011.
