Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is a manga series created by Koji Kumeta and was published in Weekly Shonen Magazine starting April 27, 2005 and ended June 13, 2012. The first season of the anime adaptation of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei was developed by Studio Shaft, directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, written by Kenichi Kanemaki and aired in TVK, CTC, TVS and many more starting July 7, 2007 and ended September 22, 2007. The second season was written by Yuichiro Oguro starting January 5, 2008 and ended March 29, 2008. A third season was written by Fuyashi Tou and Akiyuki Shinbo starting July 4, 2009 and ending September 26, 2009.

Sayounara Zetsubou Sensei Plot

On a nice spring day, high school student Fuura Kafuka saw a man hanging on a cherry blossom branch on her way to school. She tried to save him (which actually nearly did kill him) by pulling him down (and tightening it around the man's neck) , ripping the rope and send him crashing on the ground. He asked why she saved him, even though he's still prepared to die. She said that he won’t do it since it's such a wonderful day. The girl is over the top optimistic calling him Pink Supervisor. After he's had enough of her optimism, he ran away to his workplace, the school, and started his homeroom class. It turns out that Fuura is only one of his peculiar students.

Sayounara Zetsubou Sensei Characters

Itoshiki Nozomu - He is a the youngest son of the Itoshiki family. He has a very pessimistic personality and tries to commit suicide (attempts that are rarely serious) when he is in despair. He is the homeroom teacher of a class full of students with peculiar personalities and bizarre obsessions.

Fuura Kafuka - She is the exact opposite of Nozomu. While Nozomu sees everything in a negative perspective, she sees it in a positive one. Exceedingly optimistic, she described that her parents tried to become taller by hanging themselves after encountering financial difficulties and the act of stalking "deep love". Although her personality is over the top optimistic, it is hinted that she has a darker side.
