Luffy is the captain of the renegade Straw Hat Pirates. He’s got a reputation for being reckless, and in some cases, insane. You can even call him as an incurable troublemaker despite his rather aloof and carefree personality especially when his friends are in trouble.

Growing up, Luffy has always wanted to be a pirate just like his childhood hero, the infamous Red Haired Shanks. He accidentally ate the Paramecia-type Gum-Gum Fruit giving him rubber powers. With this ability, he is able to stretch every part of his body making him formidable against physical attacks.

It was later revealed that he is also able to use Haki, the ability to sense spiritual energy and freely control it to overpower his enemies.
