Misaka Imouto – To Aru Majutsu no Index – _Images

Sisters (妹達(シスターズ) Imōto-tachi(Shisutāzu), lit. "Little Sister Group") is the collective term used to refer to all the clones of [Misaka Mikoto], that were produced from the Sisters Project. However, it is also used to refer to all clones that share the same genetic material taken from Mikoto in spite of being from a different project like Misaka Worst, using the term literally to refer to them as siblings to Mikoto or to each other.

This tag refers to all Misaka clones (serial number up to 20000) created for the Sisters Project, although only one clone is specifically called "Misaka Imouto" in the series.

Appearance

The clones look the same as Mikoto, although for emphasis their eyes are drawn in a different way. Goggles and blue-striped panties are common to all Misaka clones.

Personality

The clones personalities are similar to that of Mikoto. Due to the clones emotions being surpressed – as they are unneccessary to the experiment – one would deduce that they are emotionless, as their expressions often remain the same, though they are in fact not emotionless and can still feel emotions even if they do not understand them. Because of their suppressed emotions, the clones talk in the third person narrative, describing themselves after finishing a sentence.

Initially thinking little of themselves as individuals, and not even identifying themselves as human, the clones later begin developing a sense of self and individuality after the termination of the project.

Misaka 9982

Misaka 9982 (ミサカ9982号 Misaka Kyūsen Kyūhyaku Hachijūni-gō) is a character from Toaru Kagaku no Railgun. She is the 9982nd Misaka Mikoto clone to be produced and is the first clone to be introduced to Mikoto and in the timeline. She is part of the Sisters Project as a combat target for Accelerator in order for him to achieve level 6.

Personality

While she was similar to the other clones, Misaka 9982 had a rather unique personalty, as she was very interested in the outside world. She was very snarky to people, often giving long detailed critiques on their taste in food. The one thing that she desired was to meet her older sister, Mikoto, the girl whom she was cloned from. Upon their first meeting, the two had an awful start due Misaka 9982's refusal to reveal to Mikoto what the Sisters were involved in, but they both later bonded somewhat after Mikoto gave her a Gekota badge.

Like many other clones, she became one of Accelerator's victims and the first one witnessed by Mikoto.

Misaka 10031

Misaka 10031 (ミサカ10031号 Misaka Ichiman Sanjūichi-gō) is a Misaka Mikoto clone that appears in both Toaru Majutsu no Index and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun. Originally having a small role in Toaru Majutsu no Index, her character was later expanded in Toaru Kagaku no Railgun. She is the 10031st clone to be produced and killed by Accelerator for the Level 6 Shift experiment, she is also the first clone Kamijou Touma meets.

Personality

She has the same personality as most clones, with emotions that have been surpressed as they weren't beneficial to the experiment. Despite this, she still feels pain and is emotionally vulnerable.

She became the final clone to be killed by [Accelerator].

Misaka 10032

Misaka 10032 (ミサカ10032号 Misaka Ichiman Sanjūni-gō) is the 10032nd Misaka Mikoto clone, she was first introduced in Toaru Majutsu no Index and plays a relatively small role in Toaru Kagaku no Railgun. Originally supposed to be killed in the 10032 experiment against Accelerator as part of the Level 6 Shift, she becomes the most prominent clone in the series after being rescued by Kamijou Touma, and is the one referred as Misaka Imouto (御坂妹 Misaka Imōto, lit. "Misaka's little sister") whenever they meet.

Appearance

The same as the other clones. In addition, she wears a necklace that Touma bought for her during volume 12 of the light novels.

She is normally accompanied with a small black cat which does not appear to mind the electromagnetic fields produced by her body.

Personality

Like all the Sisters, she showed little emotion and never considered herself to be a living being until Touma saved her. She later develops an attachment to life, even protecting chocolate chicks from being eaten. She has fallen in love with Touma, even getting territorial with him whenever Misaka Mikoto is around, teasing her for not being honest with her feelings towards Touma.

Her detailed "study" about society through shoujo manga has led her to believe that if a male puts a ring on a females ring finger, absolutely every "problem" that female is facing up to that point will mysteriously vanish into thin air and she will begin a very happy existence. Thanks to this misconception, she harbors a hidden aspiration of having Touma endow her with a ring.

She is usually described by people as a cool beauty, a character archetype that applies to girls that aren't easily moved nor easily experience feelings when subjected to normal situations; instead they always show themselves as an elegant and level-headed person.
