Minami Ryuusuke – Beck – _Images

Ryusuke Minami (Ray) is a care-free but very talented musician. He was the one who got Tanaka to start playing guitar and get into the band scene. He’s the founding member, leader and lead guitarist of BECK (Mongolian Chop Squad). His story with the Gibson Les Paul and dog (BECK) which stole from B.B. King’s greatly affects the band’s direction.

His roots are mostly blues and derives a lot of his solos from the blues and pentatonic scales. There are two events where he shows off his blues knowledge. He also has a great sense of sound picking up subtle cues and mistakes.

Ryusuke is care-free and refuses to do anything remotely productive unless it has something to do with his passion for music. He’s very competitive and honest about his approach towards music and the music industry regardless if he has to suffer in one way or another. He’s not afraid to stick up for himself and what’s important to him getting him in trouble during several occasions.

He loves drinking, women and has even stolen which can be intimidating for his conservative friends. He can get very angry when someone approaches music dishonestly and isn’t afraid to show it. Even though he was the primary reason why BECK couldn’t make it to the top, he was also the reason why BECK was a solid band.

Ryusuke has shoulder length, rugged, black hair, black eyes and doesn’t show much expressions giving him that “cool” look. He has feminine features and his face is very clean despite his lifestyle. He wears a regular orange shirt with some print on it, blue or black jeans and grey shoes.
