Minami Kotori is one of the nine main characters of Love Live! School Idol Project. She is 16 years old the same with Kousaka Honoka and also a second year high school student in Otonokizaka Academy. She and Honoka have been good friends since they were young as well as with Sonoda Umi. In addition, her mother is the current chairwoman of the Otonokizaka Academy school board whom she closely resembles.

Minami Kotori portrays a character that often daydreams and has a difficult time expressing herself but plays an important role in their group. Along with another eventual member Yazawa Nico, Minami Kotori is responsible for designing the group’s costume for their performances. She is very skilled when it comes to drawing and has good fashion sense. In addition to this, she also assists when it comes to choreography. She also does not have any qualms when it comes to designing and wearing sexy outfits unlike Sonoda Umi who tends to feel embarrassed about wearing them.

Though she tends to be indecisive and tend to depend on Honoka and Umi when it comes to making decisions, she is very caring and kind to her friends and always takes her friends’ feelings into consideration. She was actually the first person to support Kousaka Honoka’s idea of starting their own idol group. Minami Kotori has grayish-brown hair complemented by her amber eyes and stands 159 centimeters tall and her blood type is O.

Though her character main color is gray, she is often portrayed having a splash of green. She was born on September 12th and her zodiac sign is a Virgo. Minami Kotori has a solo album called “Kotori, Lovin You” and her seiyuu or voice actress is Aya Uchida. Fun fact about the series is that the costumes that the group ends up wearing are determined through mobile polls by fans in real life, the same goes with the character’s hairstyles.
