General Information

"Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kizuna" is an expanded port of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Matsuri and a remake of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai & Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei for Nintendo DS with updated art for sprites and backgrounds, added cg scenes and voice acting. It was sequentially released in 4 Volumes with each volume consisting of arcs from previous releases as well as newly added arcs exclusively for "Kizuna".

"Matsuribayashi-hen", the final chapter in "Kai" was added back into Kizuna while "Miotsukushi-hen", the final chapter in "Matsuri" was replaced with "Miotsukushi: Ura-hen".

"Miotsukushi: Ura-hen" is rather different from "Miotsukushi-hen" as it now follows the events of Kizuna's "Advanced Story" consisting of the newly added "Someutsushi-hen", "Kageboushi-hen" & "Tokihogushi-hen".

The "Advanced Story" is based on the manga only arc Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Onisarashi-hen.

"Yoigoshi-hen" is based on the same-named manga only arc Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Yoigoshi-hen, but is now told from Arakawa Ryuunosuke's point of view and Sorimachi Miyuki appears as an important character who didn't exist in the manga version.

"Kotohogushi-hen" is a stand-alone chapter focusing on Furude Hanyuu's past.
