Chrno Crusade – _Images

Chrno Crusade is a manga created and illustrated by Daisuke Moriyama. It was published in Dragon Age in November, 1998 by Kadokawa Shoten as well as in Dragon Magazine and ended on June 2004. The anime adaptation aired in November 23, 2003 and ended in June 10, 2004 on Fuji TV.

Chrno Crusade Plot:

Chrno Crusade revolves around Sister Rosette Christopher. Sister Rosette is a member of The Order of Magdalene, an organization that exorcises demons and devils. Ironically, Sister Rosette is in a contract with a demon named Chrono, who helps her in her work. Because of this contract, Rosette’s life slowly drains. Rosette goes into this line of work to find her missing brother, Joshua, who was taken away by the demon, Aion. Aion wishes to destroy the balance of hell, earth and heaven and wreaks havoc for The Order of Magdalene as well as the world’s populace. The Order of Magdalene uses many methods to exorcise demons including guns, swords and spells.

Chrno Crusade Characters:

[Rosette Christopher] – Rosette is a young woman and works as an exorcist for the Order of Magdalene. Her goal is to get Joshua back from the hands of the demon, Aion. Out of desperation, she goes into a contract with the demon, Chrono, who helps her with her goal. As long as the contract remains and Chrono uses her life force to gain incredible power, Rosette’s lifespan slowly drains. Regardless, she pushes through with her goal and uses this as an excuse to be reckless but headstrong.

[Chrno] – Chrono is a demon contracted to Rosette and is her closest friend. His horns were ripped off by Aion. Horns are important for demons as it lets them receive astral energy which they use as their source of life force and power. Chrono draws his power instead from Rosette’s life force which is kept in a pocket watch around Rosette’s neck. Releasing her life force gives Chrono incredible power but shortens Rosette’s life span.
