Baka to Test to Shokanju – Baka And Test: Summon The Beasts – _Images

Baka to Test to Shoukanju is a light novel series by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Yui Haga. It was published starting January 29, 2007 and ended November 30, 2013 by Enterbrain’s Famitsu Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation was made by Mosuke Mattaku and was published in Shonen Ace starting April 25, 2009 and another was published in Famitsu Comic Clear starting October 30, 2009. The anime adaptation was directed by Shin Onuma and produced by Silver Link studio. It aired on January 7, 2010 and ended on March 4, 2010. A game entitled Baka to Test to Shokanju Portable was released for the PlayStation Portable on December 13, 2012.

Baka to Test to Shoukanju Plot:

Baka to Test to Shoukanju revolves around Akihisa Yoshii, an incredibly stupid student in Fumizuki Academy. Fumizuki Academy has a unique system where it sorts the students based on their academic scores including Math, History and Sports. At the beginning of the school year, students are given a test to place them in their respective classes. Students with high grades belong to Class A. Class A students are given better facilities and benefits such as laptops, snacks, air conditioned rooms and comfortable furniture. The lowest scoring students belong to Class F who are given horrible furniture such as broken wooden tables.

Students battle using summoned beings called Shokanju whose strengths are based on the student’s most recent test score. The students duke it out in all out battles to determine which class gets which classroom facilities. Each battle has to be authorized by a teacher. Students lose points when they receive damage from other Shokanju and when they reach 0 points; they’re forced to take supplementary lessons from the notoriously strict teacher, Soichi Sishimura.

Mizuki suffers from a fever during one of the placement tests and unfortunately gets zero points. She is then put in Akihisa’s class; Class F. Akihisa wishes for the school to not be divided by grades and decides to start a Summoner War with high-leveled classes for better facilities. Throughout the series, class F engages in several summoner wars slowly improving their facilities.

Baka to Test to Shoukanju Characters:

Yoshii Akihisa – Akihisa is the main protagonist and the light novel’s narrator. He is a student at the Fumizuki Academy and even though he’s Class 2-F’s Ambassador, he’s considered to be the “Ultimate Idiot”.

Kinoshita Hideyoshi – Hideyoshi is a student in Fumizuki Academy in class 2-F. He has been classmates with Akihisa ever since the first grade and is Yuuko Kinoshita’s twin. He’s also a Drama Club member.

Himeji Mizuki – Mizuki is a Class 2-F student in Fumizuki Academy. She was originally a Class 2-A student but got a zero in the placement tests when she got a fever.

Shimada Minami – Minami is a Class 2-F student in Fumizuki Academy. She lived in Germany during most of her life. She is placed in 2-F regardless of her capability to score better but has difficulty writing in kanji. She does very well in Math because there is little need for Kanji.

Tsuchiya Kouta – “Muttsurini” is a student at Fumizuki Academy in Class 2-F. He’s known as the ultimate pervert. Even though his scores are only slightly higher than his classmate, Akihisa, his knowledge of sex is broad.
