Yakitate!! Japan (Freshly Baked!! Ja-pan) Images

Yakitate!! Japan is a manga created by Takashi Hashiguchi and was published in Weekly Shonen Sunday starting 2002 and ended on January 10, 2007. The anime adaptation was made by Studio Sunrise, directed by Yasunao Aoki and aired on TV Tokyo starting October 12, 2004 and ended March 14, 2006.

Yakitate!! Japan plot:

Azuma Kazuma is a young boy who is on a quest to create the national break of Japan, “Ja-pan”. He heads to Tokyo to Pantasia to improve his craft. Azuma possesses a special ability called “Solar Hands” which gives the user warm hands that speeds up the fermentation of the yeast in the dough. While this gives Azuma a big advantage, his talent for innovation is his biggest strength.

Yakitate!! Japan Characters:

Azuma Kazuma – Azuma is a young bread artisan whose goal is to create the national bread, Ja-pan. He has an exceptional bread artisan and this is only supplemented by his knowledge with rice and Japanese food. He has a special ability called “Solar Hands” which increases the fermentation process of the yeast.

Kawachi Kyousuke – Kawachi is Azuma’s sidekick and co-worker. Kawachi is extremely knowledgeable about bread. He considers Azuma to be his rival but they develop more of a sibling like relationship. He has a version of Solar Hands called “Solar Gauntlets” which is like Solar Hands only it is achieved through training.

Suwabara Kai – Suwabara is a bread artisan who used to be a master swordsman until he left that path of destruction to repent by creating life-giving bread. Regardless, he still approaches baking competitions like warrior. He also achieved “Solar Gauntlets” and considers his rival to be Azuma.

Kuroyanagi Ryou Kuroyanagi heads Pantasia’s man branch and is a Food Science graduate from Harvard. He has an incredible cooking sense being able to tell the composition of bread just from the smell of it. He also becomes one of the judges for the baking competition.
