Valkyria Chronicles Series Images

Valkyria Chronicles (Battlefield Valkyria: Gallian Chronicles) is a tactical game published by SEGA. It was released on April 24th, 2008 and makes use of SEGA CANVAS’s graphics to imitate a dynamic watercolor painting. The anime was produced by A-1 Pictures ofAniplexand debuted on April 4th, 2009. It aired on Television Kanagawa, CBC, Television Hokkaido, Tokyo MX, Chiba TV, MBS, BS11 and Animax. It was written by Project Valkyria Group’s Michiko Yokote of the directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto.

In the content of Europa, two military super powers ruled the land. In the east is The Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance and in the west is the Atlantic Federation. Their economy and society are heavily dependent on the multipurpose mineral, Ragnite. As the Empire quickly depletes its Ragnite, it uses their military might to attack the Atlantic Federation for their Ragnite deposits and their first target is the neutral state of Gallia.

Important Characters:

Alicia Melchiott – Alicia Melchiott is a baker’s apprentice that wishes to make a living out of it. She’s also the captain of Bruhl’s Town Watch. She spots Welkin Gunther and arrests him under the suspicion of being a spy. Bruhl is then attacked by the Imperial Army and she helps Welkin and the rest of Bruhl’s Town Watch to fight them off. She then joins the Gallian Militia as a Sergeant of Squad 7.

Welkin Gunther – Welkin Gunther is the son of a war hero in the First Europan War. He returns to Bruhl and finds that it’s under attack. He then sneaks back into his home and pilots his father’s tank, Eidelweiss. He was then assigned to the Gallian Militia as Squad 7’s commanding officer.

Isara Gunther – Isara Gunther is the adopted sister of Welkin and the daughter of Belgen Gunther’s good friend. She is openly prejudiced because of her Darcsen blood. She meets Alicia when Welkin brings her to their home. She serves as Eidelweiss’s driver and mechanic and is Squad 7’s Corporal.

Selvaria Bles – SelvariaBles is one of the Drei Stern generals. She has her own army of infantry and serves under Prince Maximilian. She’s first introduced in the Valkyrian ruins escorting Maximillian. There it is revealed that she is a Valkyrie.

Maximilian Gaius Von Reginrave – Maximilian is a prince and is in charge of the invasion of Gallia. He is considered to have impure Valkyrian blood. He is Valkyria Chronicles’ main antagonist.
