VY1 or "MIZKI" is a Vocaloid developed by Yamaha which was announced on August 6, 2010 and released less than a month later on September 1, 2010.
VY1 was initially designated as female, but has since been described as a genderless, versatile, high-quality voicebank intended for professional use. It is also the first Japanese Vocaloid without a character avatar.
Fans have since taken it upon themselves to create their own character art based on VY1's boxart, which is colored pink, decorated with hanamizuki, and features either a hairpin on the standard edition or paper fan on the deluxe set.
