General Information

Uta no Prince-sama is a Japanese visual novel series published by Broccoli under the categories of romance, comedy and music.
It was originally targeted towards the female audience otherwise known as an “otome” game.
Due to its rising popularity in Japan, the game has been adapted into a manga and later into an anime series.
The anime adaptation of Uta no Prince-sama was produced by A-1 Pictures under the reliable direction of Yuu Kou and Yuki Ukai.
Uta no Prince-sama made its debut appearance in the big screen on July 2011. Uta no Prince-sama ended on September 2011 of the same year with 13 sensationally romantic and hilarious episodes.

Plot:
"Nanami Haruka, an aspiring song writer, enters Saotome Academy, a prestigious performing arts school in the country.
Haruka has big dreams of becoming a world-renowned composer and someday have the chance to write a song for her favorite idol.
It is a fact that successful graduates of Saotome Academy are invited to join the Shining Agency after graduation.
However, it won’t be so easy for Haruka especially when she is already surrounded by potential idols and record-breaking composers.
To top it all off: her homeroom teacher is a current idol, the headmaster was once a renowned record-breaking singer, and the academy itself is an eccentric place where anything could possibly happen.
Just before graduation, the school teams up two students, one to take the role of an aspiring idol and the other as the aspiring composer.
Together, they will sing a song that is both written and sung by them. To make matters worse for Haruka, she finds herself paired with 6 other bishounen idols."

UPDATE:

Due to the unwavering success of Uta no Prince-sama, A-1 Pictures worked on a second season for the show entitled “Uta no Prince-sama Maji LOVE 2000” which was scheduled to premiere on April 2013.
Uta no Prince-Same Maji LOVE 2000 ran for 13 episodes with an additional OVA (original video animation) which ended last June 2013.
To all the Uta no Prince-sama fans out there worry not as a third season is in the works and scheduled to debut early 2015.
