General Information

To Love-Ru (Toraburu) is a Japanese manga series written by Saki Hasemi, and illustrated by Kentaro Yabuki, creator of Black Cat. The manga was serialized in Shueisha's manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump between April 24, 2006 and August 31, 2009; 18 tankōbon volumes have been published in Japan.

A drama CD was released in February 2008 with an original story.

A 26-episode anime series adaptation by Xebec aired in Japan between April and September 2008.
Six original video animation episodes were produced by Xebec between April 2009 and April 2010.

Xebec Studios together with Atsushi Ootsuki are working on a second season entitled “To Love Ru Darkness 2nd” which was scheduled to premiere on Tokyo MX and AT-X.

To Love Ru Darkness 2nd started broadcasting on October 2012 and ended on December 2012 of the same year with 12 hilarious episodes.

Plot:
"The story is about Rito Yuuki, a high-school boy who cannot confess to the girl of his dreams, Haruna Sairenji.
One day when coming home and sulking in the bath-tub a mysterious, nude girl, appears out of nowhere.

Her name is Lala and she comes from the planet Deviluke, where she is the heir to the throne.
Her father wants her to return to her home planet so she can marry one of the husband candidates, but she decides that she wants to marry Rito in order to stay on Earth."

UPDATE:

When it comes to comedy harem themes, nothing beats To Love Ru. A number of similar anime shows comes to mind when it comes to harem comedy like Date A Live, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, The World God Only Knows, Nagasarete Airantou, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu and Zero no Tsukaima.
