Aidorumasuta or more commonly known as The iDOLM@STER is a Japanese raising simulation and rhytyhm video game series published by Bandai Namco Games. It was originally released as an arcade game back in 2005 but the franchise has grown much more from sequels to spin offs and even to multiple video game consoles, including three social network games.

Due to its rather increasing popularity, Aniplex and A-1 Pictures spearheaded the development of an anime adaptation together with Atsushi Nishigori, the same man behind the sensational Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, Corpse Princess and Kill la Kill, as the director for the entire series.

The iDOLM@STER falls under the categories of comedy, music and slice of life genres. The iDOLM@STER made its grand debut on the big screens last July 2011. It shortly ended on December 2011 of the same year with 25 heartwarming episodes.

A spin-off series was also made prior to this one entitled as “Idolmaster: Xenoglassia” which was set in an alternate universe. It was directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and produced by Sunrise. It aired in Japan from April until October 2007 with 26 touching episodes.

To further the popularity of the sensational The iDOLM@STER, an original net animation adaptation of the spin-off manga by Akane was in the works. It was entitled “Puchimas! Petit Idolmaster” directed under Mankyu and produced by the Gathering Studios. 64 short episodes were aired online between January and March 2013.

Plot:
"The iDOLM@STER follows 13 aspiring girls from the 765 Production Studio who dream of one day making it big in the industry as popular idols in the competitive Japanese entertainment industry.

Follow these girls and their arduous struggle in a highly competitive environment as laughs, struggles and even tears become inherent elements of their journey to learning what it is to be an idol nowadays.

Each character in the story portrays different struggles as each idol must go through to achieve the long-coveted stardom."
