History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi is a manga created by Syun Matsuena. It was published in Weekly Shonen Sunday by Shogakukan starting August 9, 2002 and ended September 17, 2014. An anime adaptation was made by studio TMS Entertainment, directed by Hajime Kamegaki and aired on TV Tokyo starting October 7, 2006 and ended September 29, 2007. An OVA was made by Brain’s Base studio, written by Eizo Kobayashi, directed by Hiroshi Ishiodori and was released starting March 14, 2012 and ended May 16, 2014.

History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi Plot:

Kenichi Shirahama is a 16 year old student who has been bullied ever since he was a child. He meets Miu Furinji who brings him to her dojo, the Ryozanpaku, led by her grandfather, Hayato Furinji, and houses several martial arts masters. Kenichi desires to become stronger so he learns martial arts basics from Miu. Kenichi beats a high-ranking member of his school’s sports karate club where he becomes a target for the delinquents of his school. While he only trained to defend himself, he eventually becomes a full-fledged disciple of the Ryozanpaku. He eventually gains the interest of a group of bullies called “Ragnarok” that wants to either recruit or destroy him. Kenichi’s day involves six hours of training under Ryozanpaku’s six masters.

History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi Characters:

Shirahama Kenichi – Kenichi was a regular 2nd year student in Koryou high school student who was constantly being bullied. He then meets Miu where he eventually learns martial arts and becomes a student of the Ryozanpaku. He originally wanted to learn martial arts to defend himself but later becomes a sort of hero.

Fuurinji Miu – Miu is a new student in the Koryou High School. She met Kenichi where they developed a love interest. Her grandfather runs the Ryozanpaku dojo where she is also a disciple.

Sasaki Shio – Shio is one of the masters of the Ryozanpaku who is also an infamous Karate street brawler. He is one of the oldest masters in the dojo.
