Remake: Shaman King (2021)

Shaman King is a manga created and illustrated by Horoyuki Take. It was published in 1998 and ended on 2004 in Weekly Shonen Jump. The anime adaptation aired in 2001 and ended in 2002 on TV Tokyo. Itwas co-produced by Xebec, NAS and TV Tokyo.

Shaman King Plot:

There are people who are gifted with the ability to fight and communicate with spirits. These people are called Shamans. Asakura Yoh is a care-free boy who is the descendant of the powerful Asakura family. He enters a tournament for shams held once every five hundred years to claim the title of “Shaman King” and wield the Great Spirit. Anna Koyoyma, Asakura Yoh’s fiancé, puts the easygoing Yoh into an intense training regimen. Along his journey, Yoh meets many rivals and friends. His twin brother, Asakura Hao, is the favorite to win the tournament as he is the reincarnation of the great Hao.

Shaman King Characters:

Asakura Yoh – Yoh is a member of the Asakura family (A powerful Shaman family). He wishes to become the Shaman King but his brother, Hao, is the favored to win the Shaman King tournament. It is said that only he can defeat his brother.

Amidamaru – Amidamaru acts as Asakura Yoh’s guardian spirit. He is a six hundred year old samurai who is infamous for killing several people.

Asakura Hao – Hao is the third reincarnation of the powerful Asaha Douji and is the twin brother of Asakura Yoh. He is the favorite to win the title of Shaman King.

Kyoyama Anna – Anna is the fiancé of Yoh and has the ability to channel and summon spirits from anywhere including heaven. This gives her the title “Spirit Medium”. She later marries Asakura Yoh and bears him a son.
