Rental Magica – _Images

Rental Magica (レンタルマギカ Rentaru Magika) was originally a fantasy, action and supernatural Japanese light novel series written by Makoto Sanda, with illustrations done by Pako. Rental Magica eventually had a manga adaptation which was published by Kadokawa before later having an anime adaptation directed by Itsuro Kawasaki. Rental Magica’s first episode was initially aired on October 7th, 2007 with the last episode being aired on March 23rd, 2008 with the animation done by Zexcs.

Plot:
The story of Rental Magica revolves around a magician dispatch service in the society of mages called Astral and its young and inexperienced second president Itsuka Iba. Ironically, Iba Itsuka is not even a mage as compared to its associates.

Rental Magica portrays the adventures of Astral’s associates along with Itsuka Iba’s direct supervision as well as their diligent efforts in resolving cases to be able to pay their bills and be able to hit their quota with the Association to keep their business afloat. At the same time, they have to deal with various spirits, magical beings, rival companies like Goetia, renegades, taboos and the Dark Magician’s Society: Ophion.

Characters:
Itsuki Iba (伊庭 いつき Iba Itsuki) – He is the young and inexperienced secondary president of Astral and the main protagonist of the story. He inherited his father’s title as president when his father suddenly and mysteriously disappeared. Itsuki Iba possesses the Glam Sight (妖精眼, fairy eye) in his right eye which allows him to see magic and its weaknesses. This also allows him to control the flow of spell-waves and even look into the memories of spell casters who fight against it. Unfortunately, using the Glam Sight is extremely painful to Iba Itsuki due to lack of being formally trained on how to use it. Because of this, its frequent usage exposes him to spell wave contamination which is a magical form of radiation.

Honami Takase Ambler (穂波・高瀬・アンブラー Honami Takase Anburā) – She is an employee of Astral and is an expert when it comes to Celtic magic and Witchcraft. She serves as Iba Itsuki’s unofficial secretary and tutor when it comes to things that involve magic. She is also a childhood friend of Iba Itsuki. She was also known to be able to revive the lost art of the druids in a span of two years and used to compete for top seat of the “School” of England along with another child prodigy and Goetia’s current master; Adilisia Lenn Mathers. She also has a noticeable crush on Iba Itsuki and is the first one to spank him every time a girl attempts to be romantic towards him.
