Qi Rong (also known as Night-Touring Green Lantern) is a savage-level ghost and one of the Four Great Calamities (although his inclusion in this group is highly debated due to his lower ranking, compared to the other three). He is crass and vulgar, and seeks to imitate the ghosts kings in twisted ways, such as by eating human flesh and by stringing up dead bodies to create a blood rain.
In life, Qi Rong was the cruel and insane younger cousin of Xie Lian. The two are said to share a strong familial resemblance. His viciousness was allowed to grow unchallenged due to his privileged as a member of the Xianle royal household. Although he idolized Xie Lian when he was younger, he grew contemptuous towards his older cousin after the events of the war with Yong'an, believing Xie Lian to be responsible for their nation's downfall. He commissioned many statues to be made depicting Xie Lian bowing in defeat, which were used by the angry masses to denigrate his image.
In death, Qi Rong continued to influence the world as a ghost, including his involvement in the events of the Golden Feast, which killed Lang Qianqiu's family. Although his practices are so depraved that even most ghosts despise him, he has amassed a sizable following of low-level ghosts.
