Porygon (Japanese: ポリゴン Porygon) is a Normal-type Pokémon. It evolves into Porygon2 when traded holding an Up-Grade, which evolves into Porygon-Z when traded holding a Dubious Disc.
Prior to the discoveries of Golett and Golurk, Porygon was the first known artificial Pokémon that was ever intentionally created. It was created by the Pokémon Lab according to a Pokémon Report found in Silph Co. In addition, its presence as a prize Pokémon in the then Team Rocket-owned Rocket Game Corner as well as Team Rocket's earlier control over Silph Co. suggests that Team Rocket was involved in its creation.
Porygon has a pink polyhedral body with a blue stomach, blue triangular prism feet, and a blue rectangular prism tail. Porygon has a pink, polyhedral head that ends in a blue beak and has hexagonal eyes. Porygon is made completely out of programming code. Built into this code is a Silph copyright protection preventing duplication through electronic means.
