NARUTO is a Japanese action, adventure and fantasy manga series by the one and only Masashi Kishimoto.
Its pilot chapter was published in Shueisha’s Akamaru Jump back in 1997.
Due to popular demand, Naruto was later serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump where it was licensed for an English version by Madman Entertainment and Viz Media.
Naruto has finally ended its long run on November 2014 with its chapters collected in 72 tankobon volumes.

Due to an increasing fanbase, Studio Pierrot decided to work on the anime adaptation of Naruto together with the man who worked on exceptional shows like Flame of Recca, Gensomaden Saiyuki, and Tokyo Underground, Director Hayato Date.

Plot:

Twelve years ago, the all-powerful and mischievous fox demon later known as the “Nine-Tails” attacked the ninja village Konoha.
Leaving death and destruction in its wake, its current leader, the Fourth Hokage is forced to act upon this so-called demon fox.
After grueling and intense battle with Nine-Tails, the Fourth Hokage manages to seal the demon fox in his newborn son, Uzumaki Naruto, at the cost of his own life.
Growing up, Naruto has been detested by the villagers as if he himself was the demon fox itself.
Since then, its current leader, the Third Hokage, forbid anyone from mentioning the attack of Nine-Tails to anyone else, especially to Naruto.

Twelve years have passed and Naruto has lived a solitary life shunned by everyone because of the Nine-Tail fox sealed within him.
Yearning for love and respect from the people around him, Naruto decides on becoming a Hokage, a title given to the strongest ninja in Konoha and becomes its leader.
After joining the Ninja Academy, he later soon uncovers the truth behind the Nine-Tails attack from the renegade ninja Mizuki who planned on asking Naruto to steal the elusive Forbidden Ninjutsu Scroll for him.
After gaining the respect of his former teacher Iruka Umino, he graduated into becoming a genin, ninjas who is now able to take on low-level missions for the village.
Together with his bitter rival Sasuke Uchiha and the object of his affections Sakura Haruno, they form a three-person Team 7.
They are guided by the experienced war veteran and extremely strict sensei, copy-ninja Kakashi Hatake.
Just like any other ninja teams of Konoha, Team 7 too is charged with completing missions ranging from doing house chores or even bodyguard work.
For Naruto, the path to becoming a Hokage is a long a difficult one filled with pain, betrayal and loss, where he meets many friends and numerous foes along the way.


Characters:

Uzumaki Naruto is the host of the nine-Tailed Fox which was sealed inside him when he was just a baby by his father, the late Fourth Hokage. Naruto eventually aims on becoming Hokage hoping it will get him the love and respect of the people around him that he so richly deserve.

Sasuke Uchihais Naruto’s self-proclaimed rival who is said to be the last remaining member of the massacred Uchiha clan. He later discovers that his brother, Itachi, killed the entire clan along with his family and has since then vowed to kill him.

Sakura Haruno is the sole female member of Team 7. And just like every other girl her age in the Ninja Academy, she has a large crush on Sasuke, who he personally sees as an annoyance. She resents Naruto for being rude to Sasuke, which in turn Naruto grew to hate Sasuke to taking her attention.

Kakashi Hatake is the easy-going leader of Team 7 and acting instructor to Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. Back in the day, he earned himself a reputation for being the all-powerful “Copy Ninja” which is thanks to the Sharingan he obtained from a dear old friend.
