Tomoko's best friend in middle school, often referred to as Yū-chan (ゆうちゃん) by Tomoko, whom she nicknames Mokotchi (もこっち). Initially a dorky looking girl, Yū changed her appearance to have prettier dyed hair upon entering high school, but still enjoys hobbies such as anime and regards Tomoko as her best friend. She has a boyfriend, which often disheartens Tomoko.

She is the protagonist of the 4koma spin-off manga.
