Mu Qing, worshiped as General Xuan Zhen, is the Martial God presiding over the Southwest. He was a former general of Xianle and served Xie Lian as a deputy official during his first ascension. Mu Qing follows the same cultivation path as Xie Lian, and wields a nine-foot-long Sabre called a Zhanmadao in battle.
Mu Qing was common-born, and became friends with the Crown Prince by working as his serving boy. Noticing his aptitude for cultivation, Xie Lian invited Mu Qing to train with him, allowing him the opportunity to surpass his social class. Mu Qing is often mocked by other heavenly officials for his history as a servant, and he reacts violently to even the mention of sweeping.
Mu Qing is hated by most of the Heavenly Court due to his sarcastic and sly personality. He is infamous for his vanity and has a reputation of destroying statues of himself he deems to be too ugly. He is often said to give the impression of Civil God due to his fine features and grace. He shares a fierce rivalry with Feng Xin.
