To put a stop to his reign of terror, the cultivation sects once united together to vanquish him upon his home in the Burial Mounds.
Over a decade later, Wei Wuxian finds himself unexpectedly resurrected in the body of a young cultivator. Unkeen to provoke the ire of the people who once hunted him, he pretends to be a lunatic to dissuade suspicion. However, he soon finds himself in the custody of his old rival, Lan Wangji, who somehow sees right through his act.
