Metal Gear Solid – KONAMI – _Images

Metal Gear Solid is a series of stealth, action-adventure games by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and was released for the PlayStation on September 3, 1998 by Konami.

It was written by Tomokazu Fukushima, co-written and directed by Hideo Kojima and features the artwork of Yoji Shinkawa. It is a direct sequel to the original Metal Gear and following Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.


Metal Gear Solid Plot

In February 2005, a during training in Shadow Moses Island containing nuclear weapons, the Next Generation Special Forces and FOXHOUND, under the command of Liquid Snake, rebelled against the US Government. They wished to control the Metal Gear REX system which allows nuclear warheads to be launched from anywhere on the planet. They also wanted the body of Big Boss which they were going to use to manufacture an army of super soldiers.

With stakes so high, Colonel Roy Campbell, the Secretary of Defense, summons the now retired Solid Snake to perform a solo mission to stop Metal Gear REX and Liquid Snake.

Metal Gear Solid Characters

Solid Snake – Solid Snake (aka David) was a special ops soldier, spy and mercenary. He became so as a result of the Les Enfants Terribles project and is Big Boss’ son. His brothers are Solidus Snake and Liquid Snake. The success of his near impossible missions has made a legend in the military. He was then inducted into FOXHOUND under Big Boss’ leadership and since then, has been tasked with destroying or disarming the deadly weapon, Metal Gear.

Liquid Snake – Liquid Snake (aka Liquid) was a squad commander of FOXHOUND and is Solid Snake’s twin brother. He was part of the Les Enfants Terribles project and is a clone of Big Boss. He was engineered with Big Boss’s recessive traits in her genes resulting in his inferiority and resentment to Solid Snake. He wishes to beat Solid Snake in combat to prove his superiority.

Gray Fox – Gray Fox (aka Frank Jaeger), was a mercenary and a FOXHOUND agent. He was originally a child soldier in Mozambique and when instated into FOXHOUND, received the highest commendation and title, “Fox”. He was comrades with Solid Snake during Outer Heaven Uprising but under the command of Big Boss, fought Solid and received major injuries. He was then put into a powered exoskeleton and went through genetic experiments.

Revolver Ocelot – Revolver Ocelot (aka Adamska) was a FOXHOUND operative and Patriot agent. He’s a master of guns and is obsessed with Western Cowboys which is evident in his clothes and his preferred weapon, a Colt Single Action Army Revolver.
