Plot:
The story revolves around Neuro Nougami, a demon from hell who feeds on mysteries and the ever-riddling puzzles that come with it.
He resurfaces into the human world to feast on the mysteries within the human mind who releases negative energy from their rather well-planned crimes.
He prefers to keep his identity hidden for being a demon and all. Hence, he employs the help of one Yako Katsuragi, the 16-year old high school girl who coincidentally has her own mystery to solve: the mystery of her father’s murder.
Since her father died in a locked room incident, police has ruled it as a suicide. Yako is determined to solve his father’s case and overturn their decision from a suicide to a murder.
Yako and Neuro later establish a detective agency with former criminal Shinobu Godai and the unlikely sentient braid of hair called Akane.
Together, they solve crimes normal people couldn’t handle to feed Neuro’s appetite whilst he himself is searching for the ultimate mystery of all time.
Characters:
Neuro Nougami is the titular character of the series and the main protagonist. Neuro is the arrogant, sadistic and self-centered demon detective from hell. He came to the human world in search of the so-called “Ultimate Mystery” which is so complex, and unnervingly unfathomable that it would be most pleasing to his rather unique palate.
Yako Katsuragi is the 16-year old high school girl who later becomes the face of Neuro’s detective agency. Obsessing over her father’s mysterious and untimely death, Neuro promises to help her solve her father’s case that was originally ruled as a suicide after he unknowingly died in a locked room. Yako helps Neuro solve several cases by giving him insight on how humans “operate”.
