Love Hina – Akamatsu Ken – _Images

Love Hina is a manga created and illustrated by Ken Akamatsu and was published on October 21st, 1998 and ended on October 31st, 2001 on the Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The anime adaptation was produced by Xebec and aired from April 19th to September 27th, 2000 on TV Tokyo. The characters of Love Hina are heavily influenced by A.I. Love You.

Love Hina Plot:

Keitaro Urashima tries to get into Tokyo University after he made a promise with a girl when they were children. Unfortunately, he forgot her name but hopes to get into Tokyo University to find her. Keitaro fails the entrance exam twice and his parents decide to no longer support him. With nowhere to ho, he goes to his grandmother’s hotel, Hinata House, only discover that it has become a house for a female boarders. Just as the tenants are about forcefully kick him out, Keitaro’s aunt arrives and tells them that Keitaro has inherited the hotel. Keitaro meets the other boarders as well as the female protagonist, Naru Naruseaga, who is also trying to get into Tokyo University. Naru shows promise as she ranks first in the practice exams and, with the help of some convincing, helps Keitaro to study for the exams. One day, Keitaro accidently discovers Naru’s diary and reads a page that convinces him that Naru is the girl he made the promise to long ago.

Love Hina Characters:

Urashima Keitaro – Keitaro is a 19 year old trying desperately to get into Tokyo University after he made a promise to a girl when he was 4 years old. As determined as he is, he doesn’t remember the girls face nor her name. After failing the entrance exams twice, Keitaro ends up in his grandmother’s hotel, Hinata Home. He discovers that it has been converted into an all-female dorm and that he is its new owner.

Narusegawa Naru – Naru is a 17 year old studying to get into Tokyo University and a resident of Hinata Home. She’s very intelligent and responsible ranking first in the practice exams as well as the big sister figure amongst the Hinata Home residents.

Otohime Mutsumi – Mutsumi is 20 year old studying to get into Tokyo University and has failed the exam thrice. She’s a kind and gentle girl whose anemia has cause problems in more than one occasion. Despite her weak body, she has a vice-like grip.
