PLOT
With a mixture of hope and faint anxiety, she entered her new school.

The heroine, Kanade, made a mistake almost as soon as she enrolled—and because of it, she stopped attending school, remaining absent for nearly a year.

She no longer left the house, and before she realized it, even the thought of meeting someone or stepping outside made her legs freeze with fear.

This can’t go on.
That was all she could think, day after day, shut away in her room.

Each day passed with nothing happening at all.

And that emptiness itself began to terrify her.

With every passing day, her anxiety grew stronger, and leaving the house became even harder.

Then, one night, the heroine had a dream.

“Let’s try stepping outside, just a little.”

“Cut your bangs boldly short… into someone you’re not right now.”

“Come on—… go outside.”

The strange voice fell silent after that.

Still dazed, the heroine drifted back to sleep.

There’s no way I could go outside… no way…

And yet, the next day, she couldn’t stop thinking about the dream.

The following day—

She barely moved her heavy legs, which felt as though they might stop altogether.
Slowly, she opened the shutters that had been closed tight.
Then, with a faintly trembling hand, she reached for the door.

As if pushed forward by the dream—

the heroine stepped outside.
