Affiliation(s): Fuso Imperial Army 1st Fighter Squadron, FIA African Expeditionary Force Independent Flight Squadron, 31st Joint Fighter Squadron Afrika
Familiar: Ezo Red Fox
Nicknamed "Lightning of the Fuso Sea (扶桑海の電光)", she is also known as "Higashi (東)" to those familiar with her due to the similarities between her name and that of Katou Takeko.
Keiko participated in the Fuso Sea Incident as the Fuso Army Witch. She scored top kills at 6 consecutive kills. However, the Army used Anabuki Tomoko for its propaganda movie because Keiko's fighting style was not dogfight-based. Because of that, Keiko attempted a difficult and dangerous maneuver at the victory parade and crashed, sustaining severe injuries.
Due to her injuries and the fact that she turned 20 while recuperating, she retired after giving up on returning to active duty, becoming a war correspondent. However, her reinstatement application resulted in her being assigned to the post of commanding officer for the Fuso Imperial Army African Expeditionary Force Independent Flight Squadron with the rank of Flight Lieutenant.
Despite of degraded magical ability due to her age, Keiko is still able to operate a striker unit as of 1942/43 – though no longer able to generate barrier during flight. Thus her roles during combat are airborne command as well as photo recon.
She has unique magical ability which enhances her vision called Chō Shiryoku (超視力; lit."Super Vision). This allows her to see very far away, similar to Sakamoto Mio's Magic Eye, as well as drastically improving her ability to see moving object to the point where she can shoot down a flying bullet.
