General Information:
JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken (Japanese: ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 lit. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure) first came out as a role-playing video game for the Super Famicom back in 1993.
It wasn’t long after that Hirohiko Araki wrote the manga adaptation of JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken which was published and serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and Ultra Jump magazines back in December 1986.
As of today, JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken is currently Shueisha’s second largest manga series amounting to a total of 112 published volumes thus far.
JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken has hints of adventure, horror, supernatural, thriller and bounds of endless action.
It wasn’t until in 2014 that David Production Studios decided to produce the anime adaptation of JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken.
JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken premiered across several Japanese TV networks including Tokyo MX, MBS and CBC networks on October 2012.
JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken ended on April 2013 with bone-gritting action episodes.
Plot:
JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken is set in 19th century England where a young aristocrat, Jonathan Joestar finds himself in locked in a bitter rivalry with Dio Brando, a low-born boy who Jonathan’s father took under his wing after his parents died.
Discontent being in the Shadow of Jonathan Joestar, Dio’s unfathomless lust for power leads him to seek the mysterious powers of an ancient Aztec stone mask said to grant its wielder with immeasurable power.
In a fit of insanity and greed, Dio steal’s the mysterious artifact from Jonathan, an event so magnanimous that forever changed the destiny for Dio and Jonathan for generations to come.
Fifty years have passed since then and Joseph Joestar, Jonathan’s grandson finds himself drawn in to his destiny to continue his grandfather’s mission to destroy the stone mask before Dio destroys the rest of the world.
Joseph Joestar master his abilities which has been handed down to him through the generations and face the immensely powerful organization that created the stone mask, the elusive and all-powerful Pillar Men, whose sole existence threatens the fate of humanity.
Characters:
Joseph Joestar is the grandson of the infamous Jonathan Joestar. He has grown to have a rather rebellious attitude unlike his gentlemanly grandfather. Just like Jonathan, he is also able to use the legendary Hamon technique, a technique which Jonathan used to defeat Dio back in the day, albeit not as skilled as when Jonathan used to.
Dio Brando is the low-born boy who was adopted into the Joestar household when his parents died. Filled with greed, he intended to inherit the Joestar household including the mysterious stone mask, a legendary artifact said to possess incredible powers. He used the stone mask to turn himself into a vampire. Although defeated and sealed away by Jonathan 50 years ago, he finds himself trapped and possessing the body of Jonathan Joestar.
