Inu x Boku SS, also more commonly known under the title as Youko x Boku, is a Japanese manga series both written and illustrated by Cocoa Fujiwara, the man behind exceptional works like dear, STRAY DOLL and Watashi no Ookami-san.
Inu x Boku SS itself falls under themes of comedy, romance, supernatural and drama.
Inu x Boku SS was published by Square Enix, a world-renowned Japanese video game developer and publisher known for their addictive role-playing games like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.
Inu x Boku SS is published in Gangan Joker since 2009. Inu x Boku SS has published 11 tankobon volumes which ended just recently in 2014.
Naokutsa Suda directed the anime adaptativon of Inu x Boku SS which premiered on MBS, TBS and CBC networks since January 2012.
Inu x Boku SS ended with 12 light-hearted episodes on March 2012.

PLOT:

The infamous Maison de Ayakashi, or better known as the Ayakashikan, is a high security apartment building where humans with demon ancestors, or otherwise known as yokai, reside.
Each resident of the Ayakashikan is provided with a their very own Secret Service bodyguard.
Inu x Boku SS follows the socially-inept Ririchiyo Shirakiin moves into Ayakashikan hoping to make it by herself in the world and for some well-deserved peace and quiet.
Although she initially rejected the idea of having an SS bodyguard follow her around, she eventually comes to terms with having Soushi, her personal SS bodyguard, around especially when people tried to kill her.
Her first meeting with Soushi was indeed a weird one especially when he asks a request of her, “Please make me your dog”.
It wasn't till later in the series did she realize that Soushi is actually the notorious demon Fox Spirit.



CHARACTERS:

Ririchiyo Shirakiin is a half-human and half-oni high school girl who moves into the Maison de Ayakashi yearning to become more independent. Growing up, she has suffered from constant bullying which led to her habit of rudely slighting people whenever they start a conversation with her. She was initially adamant with Soushi, her personal SS Bodyguard, following her around but she eventually comes to terms with it especially when she realizes that she may actually be falling for him.


Soushi Miketsukami is the assigned Special Services Agent to Ririchiyo when she moved into the Maison de Ayakashi. He was actually the demon Fox Spirit in his past life. Growing up, he was kept under house arrest because his family feared his powers. He is generally calm, polite and gentle to everyone he interacts with but he is shown to be blindly loyal to his master, Ririchiyo. He is extremely loyal to her and would even risk his own life for hers if the situation calls for it.


UPDATE:

David Production Studios announced that they were working on several original video animations (OVAs) for Inu x Boku SS which was released last September 2012 entitled Miketsukami's Metamorphosis, Switch and Playing House accordingly.


Recommended anime shows that are quite similar to Inu x Boku SS includes Kaichou Wa Maid Sama, Black Butler, Otome youkai Zakuro, and Hayate no Gotoku all of which are anime shows where it involves butlers and their demanding masters.
