Hotarubi no Mori e – Into The Forest Of Fireflies Light – Yuki Midorikawa – _Images

Hotarubi no Mori e is a manga created and illustrated by Yuki Midorikawa and was published in LaLa DX by Hakusensha on July 2002. An animated film adapatation was made by Brain’s Base and directed by Takahiro Omori. It premiered on September 17, 2011 and was 44 minutes long.

Hotarubi no Mori e Plot:

When Hotaru was a child, she got lost in a mountain forest called Yamagami, a mountain that is believed to be the home of spirits and monsters. Alone and scared, Hotaru cried. She was then found by a guy named Gin. He explained that if a human touches him, he will disappear. Every summer, when she visits her grandfather, Hotaru will always play with Gin in the forest. Until the day they attended a summer festival for spirits.

Hotarubi no Mori Characters:

Takegawa Hotaru - Hotaru stays in her grandfather's house every summer. One hot summer day, she got lost in the Yamagami mountain forest and was saved by Gin. She got attached to Gin when she was still a child and later developed feelings for Gin and was careful not to touch him even though she wanted to.

Gin – Gin Is a mountain spirit who was once an abandon infant left to die in the forest. The mountain God, Yamagami, took pity on him and cast a spell on Gin so he could live, but the spell is very fragile and one touch of a human being will break it. When Gin took Hotaru in the summer festival for spirits, Gin saved a child from falling who turned out to be a human child. When Gin was about to disappear, he and Hotaru took that one last moment to touch each other.
