Happiness Charge Precure (Japanese: ハピネスチャージプリキュア) is a Japanese magical girl anime series produced by Toei Animation.
Happiness Charge Precure is the eleventh installment of the widely popular Pretty Cure (Precure for short) franchise masterfully created by Izumi Todo.
Happiness Charge Precure is directed by none other than the man who brought us Beet the Vandel Buster and Digimon Savers, Mr. Tatsuya Nagamine.
Happiness Charge Precure premiered on ANN (ABC) network on February 2014.
Happiness Charge Precure briefly ended not after wrapping it up with 49 heart-warming episodes on January 2015 of the following year.



PLOT:

In Happiness Charge Precure, the wicked ruler of the evil Phantom Empire, Queen Mirage, is determined on a path of world domination.
She begins her attacks on Earth by marching her massive army of Choiarks and powerful monsters called the Salarks.
Pretty Cures from around the world are dispatched to fight against the imminent threat that is the Phantom Empire.
The princess of Blue Sky Kingdom, Princess Shirayuki, joins the fight when her kingdom was besieged by the evil Phantom Empire.
Although willing to help fend off her opponents, Princess Shirayuki keeps finding herself running away from battle scared for her life.
She was later given the Crystal of Love by the Earth Spirit and was told to find a partner to fight alongside her.
Determined to find herself a partner, she goes to the city of Pikarigaoka.
She randomly throws the crystal in the air and decided to partner up with whoever it lands upon.
Princess Shirayuki finds herself partnering with Megumi Aino, a kind-hearted girl always looking out to help others.
Accompanying Princess Shirayuki (Cure Princess) and Megumi (Cure Lovely) are Cure Honey and Cure Fortune and together, they form the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure team tasked with protecting Earth against the evil Phantom Empire.



CHARACTERS:

Megumi Aino is the 14-year old middle school student of Pikarigaoka Academy. She is always looking out to help others with her happy-go-lucky attitude and her warm smile. She is chosen by Crystal of Love and transforms into the elegant Cure Lovely. Her Pretty Cure forms are Cherry Flamenco (allows her to use fire-based attacks), Lollipop Hiphop (uses music-themed attacks), Super Happiness Lovely and Forever Lovely (Innocent forms she unlocked in the movie). She represents love.


Princess Shirayuki is the 14-year old princess of the Blue Sky Kingdom. Determined to save her kingdom after it was besieged by the evil Phantom Empire, she transforms into a Pretty Cure to fight off the Phantom Empire on Earth. She initially struggled fighting against the Phantom Empire because of how scared she gets. Her Pretty Cure forms are Sherbet Ballet and Macadamia Hula Dance. She represents courage.


Yoko Omori is Megumi’s best friend and classmate at Pikarigaoka Academy. Her deepest wish is to share delicious food with the people she cares about. Her love for cooking stemmed from her family’s bento shop. Her Pretty Cure forms are Popcorn Cheer and Coconuts Samba. She represents life.


Iona Hikawa is Megumi’s cool schoolmate who turns out to be the apprentice of the esteemed “Hikawa Karate Dojo”. Her deepest wish is to become stronger and rescue her sister from her archenemy, Phantom. She received her powers from her sister, Maria (formerly known as Cure Tender) who is now trapped in a mirror after having been defeated by Phantom. Her Pretty Cure forms are Anmitsu Komachi and Pine Arabian. She represents hope.


UPDATE:

Just like every other Pretty Cure anime series, Toei Animation also worked on a movie for Happiness Charge Precure entitled “The Ballerina of the Land of Dolls”.
The movie premiered last October 2014 and was directed by none other than Tatsuya Nagamine.
Bandai Namco Games also released a minigame for the NintendoDS entitled the “Happiness Charge Precure Kawarun Collection”.
Go Princess Precure is the newest installment of the Pretty Cure franchise and is said to premiere this coming Febraury 2015.


Recommended titles that are quite similar Happiness Charge Precure in both content and genre would include Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magical, Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Stars, Card Captor Sakura, Fairy Musketeers Akazukin, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Saint Angel and all 11 installments of the Pretty Cure series.
