General Information

GUILTY GEAR (ギルティギア) is a series of fighting games by Arc System Works and designed by artist Daisuke Ishiwatari. Guilty Gear was first published in May 14, 1998 for the PlayStation. The series was such a success that it spawned a manga and several sequels.

Plot:
"Guilty Gear follows ten combatants to take part in the “Second Sacred Order Tournament”. Civilization has just recovered from a decade of war against bio-organic weapons made by man called “Gears”. A Gear, Testament, has put together a plan to revive Justice and destroy humanity. The Union of Nations put together a tournament to fight combatants who can take on Testament and Justice. The winner is promised anything they desire.

The fighters go through the tournament and slowly reveal the motive behind the tournament. After the combatant defeats Testament, they help Justice’s resurrection by becoming the sacrifice. After defeating Justice, an uneasy peace is restored.

Following the Canon, Sol Badguy is the tournament’s winner but every character’s respective ending can be achieved by playing through the game."

Guilty Gear Characters:

Dizzy – Dizzy is the abandoned child of Justice. She was found by an elderly couple who brought her back to her village. The villagers feared Dizzy because she grew from an infant to her late teens in only three years. Her discovering she had wings and a tail only exacerbated the issue making her identify as a gear. Her foster parents hid her but she was captured and abused. When she escaped, the government issued a bounty for her death.

Bridget – Bridget is a boy who was raised as a girl. The reason for this was that he was born of twins of the same gender which was believed to be bad luck so his parents brought him up as a girl. When Bridget grew older, he wanted to prove he could be somebody by becoming a bounty hunter. I-No gives him a list of fame bounties to pit him against the other fighters of the tournament. He wields a yo-yo and a mechanical teddy bear named Roger.

Ky Kiske – Ky is the International Police Force’s chief and head of the Secred Order of Holy Knights. He lead the Sacred Order of Holy Knights to end the 100 year war against the Gears. He upholds and follows the law which gets him into many fights with the rebellious Sol Badguy. He wields a swords named Thunderseal as well as casts lightning spells.

Sol Badguy – Sol used to be a member of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights now turned independent bounty hunter. He seeks to destroy the Gears. He may look young but he is actually 150 years old and was involved in the initial Gear Project becoming a prototype Gear himself. He wields a short sword, Fuenken and can manipulate fire.
