General Information

Fairy Tail is a Japanese manga masterpiece by Hiro Mashima, the same mastermind behind Rave Master and Monster Hunter. It was first published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since August of 2006. Fairy Tail manga is still ongoing with 45 tankobon volumes released thus far. Fairy Tail falls under the action, adventure and fantasy genre.

Shinji Ishihara together with A-1 Pictures and Satelight directed the anime adaptation of Fairy Tail that was scheduled to broadcast last October 2009. Since then, there have been 201 action-packed episodes which are subdivided into 4 seasons. Fairy Tail was later licensed for an English release by Madman Entertainment and Funimation in North America.

As of 2011, Fairy Tail has earned its spot as the seventh ranked top ten manga in Japan. It was also awarded as the 4th best selling manga of all time. It was even awarded as the “Anime of the Year” back in 2010 and the “Best Japanese Anime” award in 2012. On July 2013, Mashima and the people from A-1 Pictures announced that the 4th season of Fairy Tail will make its way to the television on 2014.

Plot:
"The story is set in an imaginary world where magic is as common as breathing and when people rely to magic guilds for help.

One particular guild stands out not only for its incomparable strength but for its reputation for being troublemakers. Magnolia is the place where this so-called rambunctious wizard’s guild, Fairy Tail, call home. For years, the people of Magnolia have suffered the consequences of Fairy Tail’s rather overly destructive nature.

The story shifts over to a 17-year old girl by the name of Lucy Heartfilia who wishes to become a member of the most prestigious wizard’s guild to have ever been created: Fairy Tail. On one peculiar day, she bumps into Natsu Dragneel, a fellow wizard and his rather cat-like companion, Happy. It wasn’t till later after an unexpected turn of events did she learn that Natsu is actually a member of Fairy Tail. After joining Fairy Tail, Lucy forms a team with Natsu and Happy and together complete missions together. They are later joined by Gray Fullbuster, an ice wizard from Fairy Tail and Erza Scarlet, an armored female wizard also from Fairy Tail. Together, they travel all over Fiore to complete helping people, fighting the bad guys and meeting new friends in the process.
