General Information:

Dissidia is an action RPG and fighting game for the PlayStation Portable by Square Enix to celebrate the Final Fantasy series’ twenty year anniversary. It was released on December 18, 2008. Dissidia was directed by Takeshi Arakawa, written by Daisuke Watanabe and featuring the art style of Takayuki Odachi. The game involves the protagonists and antagonists from the Final Fantasy games and their involvement in the struggle between the Goddess of Harmony and the God of Chaos.

Plot:
"Dissidia’s story involves a feud between the Cosmos, the goddess of Harmony and Chaos, the god of discord, and their warriors coming from the protagonists and antagonists from the first ten Final Fantasy games making up twenty-two characters. These characters are duel in an endless cycle of rebirth and death until the balance of the Cosmos and Chaos are equal again. When the fight seems to near its end, Cosmos’ warriors work together to fight Chaos and his lackeys but because they lost a lot of power in the cycle prior, Cosmos gives her ten warriors the task of getting ten crystals that would aid them in defeating Chaos. To obtain these crystals, each hero must combat and defeat their personal villains in a “Destiny Odyssey”. After each crystal is retrieved, the heroes then do a “Shade Impulse” where they attempt to defeat Chaos."
