General Information:

Choujigen Game Neptune (Japanese: 超次元ゲイム ネプテューヌ lit. Superdimensional Game Neptune) is a series of Japanese role-playing videogames by Idea Factory, the same game developer company that brought us the widely popular Spectral Force games. Choujigen Game Neptune made its big debut back in August 2010 as a game for the PlayStation 3 which was later re-released as a remake for the PlayStation Vita. Due to popular demand, Idea Factory managed to produce two more sequels, the Hyperdimension Neptunia MK2 and the Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. The franchise has later branched off into making a manga, light novel and even an anime adaptation of Choujigen Game Neptune.

The manga was premiered in the Famitsu Comic Clear as of November 2010 whilst the novel was published by MF Bunko J on May 2013. A sequel and spin-off manga series by Mikage Baku was published on June 2013 on the Dengeki Maoh.

Plot:
"The game takes place on the fictional universe of Gamindustri where Neptune, one of the four goddesses, is thrown into the ensuing battle later known as the Console War.
Neptune later finds herself fighting against the three other goddesses and is defeated in a one on three battle where she loses consciousness and drifts off in her dreams.
She soon wakes up at Compa’s house unable to remember anything prior to the events that happened.
She also discovers that monsters have run amok in her absence has decided to help Compa hunt down these monsters and return peace to the land. "
