General Information

Cardcaptor Sakura is a manga created and illustrated by Clamp. It was published in Nakayoshi starting May 1996 and ended in June 2000. The anime adaptation was produced by Madhoused and aired in NHK BS2 starting April 7, 1998 and ending March 21, 2000.

Plot:
"Kinomoto Sakura, a ten year old girl, wanders into her father’s study room and finds a mysterious book. She opens it and when she reads one of the Clow Cards’ labels, accidently releases the rest of the cards. She is later greeted by the Clow Card’s guardian, Kerberos (who Sakura names Kero). Kero tells Sakura that the reason the Clow Cards were able to escape is because he was asleep. Kero tells Sakura that she must wield the Clow Staff and return the card spirits into cards. Sakura then tells her best friend, Tomoyo Daidouji, who provides her with costumes as well as videotaping her battles. Later, a boy named Li Syaoran, reveals that he is the descendant of the Clow Cards’ creator, Clow Reed, and his fiancé, Meiling Li."
