Avatar: The Last Airbender

Avatar: The Last Airbender was created written by Michale Dane DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. It was directed by Lauren MacMullan, Dave Filoni and many others under Nickelodeon Animation Studios and aired on Nickelodeon starting February 21, 2005 and ended July 19, 2008.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Plot:

Sibling Katara and Sokka were fishing in a river one day when they had an argument. Katara has a special ability called water bending and unconsciously used it as she was arguing with her brother making the water around her to move unnaturally revealing an ancient iceberg with a strange glow. When it opened, a stream of light came out of it and so did a little boy named Aang and a his flying bison, Appa. Aang turned out to be the long lost Avatar, the master of all four elements and the very last air bender alive, who disappeared when the Southern Air Temple was being attacked. Together, they went on a journey to save the world.

Aang - A twelve year old air bending master who ran away from home due to the pressures of becoming the Avatar. He was caught in a storm and as he was drowning, he unconsciously went into his Avatar state and froze himself for 100 years. He was found by Katara and Sokka in the river near their tribe.

Katara - She is the only water bender in the Southern Water Tribe. The other water benders in her village were killed by the fire kingdom soldiers as part of the fire kingdom's hundred year war. Her mother lied about being the very last water bender in the Southern Water Tribe to save her. She is the first person Aang saw after being frozen for 100 years and Aang's love interest. She also became Aang's water bending master after she mastered the art herself.

Sokka - He is Katara's younger brother. Although he cannot bend any kind of elements, he is a great strategist, engineer or some sort of jack-of-all-trades. He was later described by Master Piandao as creative, versatile and intelligent. He uses his boomerang, machete and later a sword which blade is made out of a meteorite which he calls "Space Sword". He also provides the comic relief in the show. He was in a relationship with the Northern Water Tribe's princess, Yue, who later became the substitute moon spirit when the original one was killed by Admiral Zhao. Later in the series, he hooked up with the Kyoshi Warrior's leader, Suki.

Toph Bei Fong - Toph is blind and the only child of the wealthy Beifong family in the Earth Kingdom. She taught herself how to earth bend by mimicking the movements of the badger moles. Despite being blind, she can tell where things and people are by feeling the vibrations in the ground. She became Aang's earth bending master.
