General Information

Amagami (アマガミ lit. Gentle Bite) was originally developed as a dating simulation game for the PlayStation 2 developed and published by Enterbrain.

Amagami gave birth to six other manga adaptations, two of which was serialized in Enterbrain's Famitsu Comic Clear.

AIC Studios produced the anime adaptation which was directed by Yoshimasa Hiraike. Amagami was later licensed for a North American release by Sentai Filmworks. Amagami premiered on TBS, CBC and MBS networks on July 2010. Amagami ended on December 2010 wih 26 light-hearted episodes.

Plot:
"Amagami follows Tachibana Junichi, a second-year high school student, who finds himself heartbroken by a girl who didn’t show up for a date on Christmas Eve.
Two years have passed since then and Junichi spends most of his time inside his closet planetarium, going to school and hanging out with his friends.

Traumatized by the Christmas Eve incident, Junichi has grown to wary of love until the day he met one of the most beautiful girls in school, third-year student Morishima Haruka.
He soon finds himself spending time with her, carrying her books or having her unexpectedly jump on his back.
Soon enough, Junichi finds himself falling for her.

His later encounters with other beautiful girls at school: Kaoru Tanamachi, Sae Nakata, Ai Nanasaki, Rihoko Sakurai, and Tsukasa Ayatsuji, will one day be the one to open his heart to love once again."

UPDATE:

AIC Studios have worked together with Tomoki Kobayashi on a sequel to the original series.
Amagami SS+ premiered on January 2012 and ended briefly on March of the same year with 13 heartwarming episodes.
A dating simulation game was developed by Kadokawa Shoten for the PlayStation Vita which was released on January 2014.
An earlier version of the game was released for the PlayStation Portable and released on March 2011.

Amagami SS is one of the many anime shows that were actually based from a dating simulation game including Tokimeki Memorial and The World God Only Knows. On the romance perspect, you can try something like Nodame Cantabile, Toradora, Yosuga no Sora, Clannad and Nagi no Asukara.
