    Spontaneous interpretation:

    Shiro was wondering aloud one day why Mephisto always wears that clownish outfit of his. Mephisto replies that he hasn't always worn that, and goes eins, zwei, drei. This pic was the snapshot from that moment, and what Shiro's thinking is "Holy...! I would've never guessed he'd find something MORE outlandish to wear!"
