awwww not nice words D:
-
Jul 04, 2011
I don't get it...It says words hurt but when you look at the people they obviously are what the signs say they are, so why would they be offended?
-
Jul 05, 2011
Your completely missing the point. Like, just cause the guy wears black doesn't make him emo, and just because the girls fat doesn't make her ugly. Get it? Those are words some people use to hurt people
-
Jul 07, 2011
I think the retard is cute.
-
I've got Cerebral Palsy in my legs and I'm not very smart when it comes to math. So when people stare at me with the way I walk, or make fun of me because of my slowness in school, it really hurts.
EDIT: SuperTacoGuy, wow you're cruel. -
Jul 07, 2011
Well.. I got All Of Those.. Imma Retard..Gay..Ugly And Emo..
But Yeah.. People Saying Those Things Can hurt Much.. -
Jul 08, 2011
...remind me why there's yaoi in the tags? i'm sorry, but i don't really think this is the right time to...put that there...especially when the two seem to clash at each other
-
Jul 10, 2011
Very inspirational.
-
Hm, I was listening to F***ing Perfect when I found this. ^^
-
i like how this is the only picture on Zerochan tagged with "chunky".
good job. -
Jul 13, 2011
awww its so sad:( i would be all these peoples friends:3!
-
How ironic that an image about respecting others isn't tagged with the artist. >.<
-
I've been called names before and it totally sux and it tears ur self esteem all to shreds but now i know that everybody is beautiful and special in there own way and i know that sounds cliched but its wat i truly believe! :]
-
I don't understand how being called names hurts so much on others,
never bothered me. I literally go mental Shizuo on people that make fun of me.
But unlike Shizuo I haven't broken any bones. -
Jul 20, 2011
...but there's nothing wrong with the word 'gay' when you're referring to a gay couple. Bad example.
-
Jul 20, 2011
everyone one on school calls me emo and bi..and other stuff
they always ignore me but when they have a fight they use me and tell me that they know how i feel..how stupid like i ever would trust one of them -
If you're looking at his picture and scrolling through these comments, I'm sure you've been called atleast one of the four. To you all: they'll stick and hurt. Sad fact. But how they stick to you and what you do madders. Don't let anybody tell you twice on your intelligence, orientaion, beauty, or style. You're awesome how you are. :] To those who inflict these judgements- no words are worth saying.
-
Jul 21, 2011
I agree 50-50 to what this comments have said, so far I have been in or rather all four boats in this case at some point in my life. All this words make up for what people fear and dont understand. Individualism is perfect and perfection is imperfect. What makes us who we are is our own uniqueness and thats what makes the world beautiful.
-
This is like that Glee episode, right? They possess words on them to show what they're either most teased about or most insecure about. D:
-

Why the hell is this on Zerochan? Does somebody think this image is "high quality"?
-
I think that this image where many can just to identify with
I know I`m so its a good one -

-

-

I get how the other words hurt but.... Isn't emo an adornment kinda word? Just lookit the cutie emo wearing all black and a pout. ^-^
What I also wonder is every time theres something Gay it mostly portraits males... Lesbians are gay too. -
I just love how some people can insult others so easily. You should never call anyone names of any kind because you never know what might happen to them. One word or sentence could change both their life and your life as well. I have been insulted many times but I choose to ignore them because I know that I am fine the way I am and that I'm beautiful in my own way.
-
I'm all for treating other with respect, but 'gay' is not an insult and many MANY people label themselves 'emo'... Otherwise, I think everybody should just be who they are.
@Meutrien
May be they couldn't fit into the image (not enough space), and gay boys tend to be ridiculed a lot more, so.... -
Nov 23, 2011
After seeing this picture and the comments, I feel like the only person in the world who can be made fun of or bullyed and not be hurt...I have to much of an ego for that...
-
I usually get called emo, bi, annoying, and whatnot, but I really don't care, it never bothers me.o3o
-
Dec 06, 2011
They usually called me nerd. But who cares? No one. That's why I keep living on (and somehow people jealous to my confident)
I think black is cool (remind me of gothic lolita)
You're fat but not ugly, show you have potential, like Oprah or the others
So what if you guy? You are better and more brave than chicken outside there that ashame with theirselves
Anyone know what retarded mean? Don't have dictionary XD
And for girl that thinking they don't pretty
Every girl is beautiful when they confident, It likes aura or something -
Nobody has the right to judge someone. Everyone's beautiful in their own way. c:
Edit: About the 'gay' thing.. I feel guilty. I have two guys in my class that are always together, and the class calls them gay.
I don't wanna sound mean but it's pretty funny. -
Dec 19, 2011
SuperTacoGuy I will write the words my friend wrote when he saw this picture
Just because a person is dressed weird, acts weird, or is weird, doesn't mean he/she's retarded
Just because two guys/girls are in love with each other, or maybe just hanging out, doesn't give you the right to tease them and call them gay
Just because a person is fat, doesn't mean you can call he/she ugly
Just because a person wears black doesn't mean you should call them emo -
Jan 14, 2012
I thing the girl by the Emo is pretty.I get mad fun of because I get mad easy
-
i get called emo alot so i identify with this completely <3
-
Mar 09, 2012
i can utterly relate to this..
-
Mar 15, 2012
I got called emo because of my hairdo
-
Apr 17, 2012
Honestly... and I'm gonna speak on my feelings here... these words don't matter... they are just words, and the people who speak them to you, matter even less... I learned this early on, the people who tease, are worthless and only do it to make themselves feel better... And what other people say don't make you who you are....
Of course physical abuse has no excuse... and those people should be hurt back...
another thing, the "gay" thing... if you are in a relationship with someone of the same sex, and people tease you about it.. you know what, it shouldn't matter... you are with someone you love, and they should be the person who's opinions matter... not someone so worthless they have to go around teasing others to build up their own self esteem.. -
She's not ugly, she's fat, obvs. AND WTF!? Her thighs don't touch?! Is that a joke? Does she have rickets? I don't know one fat person who's thighs don't touch, some of my thin friends thighs touch!!
And to be totally honest, everyone has either called someone emo, fat, gay, retarded whatevs and/or have probs been called one of 'em, regardless of whether you actually are or not. People are bithces - end of, move on? -
i'm the ugly one even if i'm not fat but i'm just so ugly
-

IF TWO MEN/WOMEN ARE IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER, THEY'RE GAY. IT IS NOT AN INSULT, IT IS AN ACCEPTED TERM. THIS BOY ISN'T BEING CALLED EMO BECAUSE HE LIKES BLACK. ITS PROBABLY BECAUSE HE HAS /BANDAGES ON HIS WRISTS/.
-

^ i see your point but you didnt have to all caps it
-
Love it, I got the point of this picture either :)
-
I've been called retarded more than once :/ But I've been mostly been called a nobody a lot, which surprisingly isn't here. :/ I've been ignored by a lot of people... But even though that happens, I still listen to them :) I've learnt that these are just words people say to make you feel bad. But those words aren't true. And even if they are, then there are still good things about yourself. Don't hate the person who called you names, they probably were called names too, and they just want someone else to know how they feel, and it's a bad feeling.
-
People are so mean and judgemental.. It's not nice to bully and people should think about it the other way around:
"How would it feel if you were in their shoes?" or "Treat others the way you want to be treated." -

Just because they call you something mean, doesn't mean you are. And people tend to call me ugly - "She's so ugly I don't know why guys like her." - but that doesn't mean I allow myself to be graded 'ugly' over a comment. I like the way I look; my eyes can see, my face isn't distorted whatsoever. I'm happy with who I am because my existence has brought happiness to people even if it's not everyone - one can never please every other person.
My point is, if you let yourself be knocked down and never get up, then you're to blame. Blame yourself for not believing in your own existence. If your friends don't accept you for who you are, you can't force them to pretend they want you around - that's just pity and it's worse than most things if you have self-respect. Besides, those aren't "true" friends to begin with.
People tend to demean others and belittle them so that they themselves can feel superior. If you allow that, you've lost the game. The best way to make them eat their own words is to find people who still love you for being yourself. Respect your own identity, love yourself, don't let others make you feel ashamed just so that they can feed their own barbaric personality.
Be the bigger person. :) -
Well, in a way.... When people say just ignore, they can't do that. People are different so because of this, it will be effect others or not when being called names. Just because it doesn't hurt you, doesn't mean it won't hurt them. Its why this picture is saying and telling people to UNDERSTAND others and to be kind.
I can handle people calling me names but from others.... I know they can't handle it. Words are powerful. So its best to be careful with them. -

^ Exactly my point to tell people not to care for deliberately cruel insults?
And honestly, I think people who let words hurt them should strengthen up. Even if you are almost 'perfect' in every way society wants in an ideal person, someone would still try to nitpick something because you can't befriend everyone.
Even if you try hard, you can't please everyone; so you might as well be yourself!
Similarly, not everyone is out to get you and call you names; there are people that care, and even if it seemed like you're alone, you're not. The world is a vast place where millions of people are going through the same thing. We just have to keep holding on until people who understand start filing into our lives one by one. -
But some can't. People are different so there will be some that can't. It's why people are saying that humanity is lacking "compassion". I agree on what you mean by being stronger but some always need a hand.
True, true on being yourself and the rest of the world, Seralynette. -
Very inspirational. Words hurt, regardless if they're the 'correct' term or not. :<
-
Look at all the long comments I didn't read ~
And yeah, true picture. Society is too quick to label, sadly. But that's the way society will always be (I'm not saying this to be pessimistic) -
i can understand two of them but the other two seem to be out of place.
like Emo, didn't they came up with the name themselves like nerd, geek, goth or hipster or is it referring to people that dress up in black and stuff and are just called that by others. but being called one of those other words (nerd, geek, goth or hipster) isn't a bad thing, I'M A GEEK AND I'M PROUD OF IT!
and being called gay if your gay isnt really bad, im pretty sure they preffer that over faggot unless this is reffering to people who are called gay but are not actually gay.
but calling a person who has down syndrome or something retarded or a person that doesnt look perfect ugly is wrong. -

Don't know if I'm allowed to post this, but to those who feel like they can relate to this picture, or even those who think it's stupid, watch this -
-
"we are holding hands... but in a bro way"
-
I need to say I don't understand one thing about that picture - why does "gay" is treated like a bad word here? I mean, in said certain tone and context it can be treated as insult, but by itself this is not an insult, not even a rude word?
This is just synonym of the word "homosexual", especially used to refer homosexual men, and both of them are neutral terms as far as I am concerned.
It's as if someone said "blonde" is an insult simply because you can call someone "dumb blonde" etc. - just unreasonable. -
^^ Pffffft—
