That's pretty much what I can't understand. Hetalia's art style is very blocky and unattractive, even for generic bishounen standards this is just ridiculous. To each his/her own I guess.

StudioDEEN sort of.. Butchered Himaruya's style.
Plus the overly reused scenes in the Anime, even if played for comedy, was rather disappointing.
I know he usually draws short skits, but each episode is 5 minutes and they only animate half of it xD.
Though Himaruya's style is adorable and I am devoted to the manga's and his blog, I only watch the Anime for the lulz when I have nothing else to do.
I do truly hope that if the Anime is ever picked up again, it wont be by StudioDEEN. (Just keep the Funimation VA's :P)

i think the fangirls fangirl (lol) mostly over the fanarts and not the actual serie, because some of the fanarts are realy sexy ^////^ but that's just my opinion
