I support NaruHina but with this ending.. I almost don't support it? It was kept too open and fans that like other ships are now ... well.

I must agree. I never was much of a NaruHina shipper (not because I didn't like it or anything but simply because it wasn't that interesting to me) but the way everyone was so hastily paired up at the end in just a few chapters was way too rushed and unsatisfactory. It was like "lalala, we have almost zero interaction together but bam! look at us - we're married with kids now, trololol~" >_>

Ah, well. All in all, I guess at least now we can surely say they're canon, lol.

I've always loved NaruHina, but I agree that it felt a bit rushed at the end, as if Kishi desperately wanted the last chapter at 700. I would have liked to see more interaction between Naruto and Hinata before they magically appeared with kids and all, and like HOW and WHEN Naruto started to like her in a more romantic way, but I suppose that would have kind of changed the genre of the story. The ending wasn't BAD, but it could perhaps have been a little... better... planned... (sorry Kishi :P). I do look forward to the movie though, as it may explain things a little further, as well as the "3rd part" of Naruto next year. Wonder what that's gonna be like... :)

I, too, felt it was rushed, even though I am so happy that it's now canon (I ship NaruHina).

But all that will probably, and maybe other (now) canon pairings, be explained in the last Naruto movie, The Last:Naruto the Movie, because I think it's based while Kakashi is Hokage and Naruto & Hinata have a lot of interaction, it seems (the CD for the soundtrack apparently will feature Naruto and Hinata as the CD cover)...

The ending was BS, Kishimoto crapped on his own manga. If he intended to go wit NH and SS he should have developed them, not make things magically happen. I am glad to see that even some NaruHina fans find this ending bad and rushed. I think Kishi didn't intend to make NaruHina and SasuSaku from the beginning and he either gave in to fan pressure or his editor made him, because to me it's obvious NaruSaku was his plan, he even confirmed the Sakura = Kushina parallel in 631. Naruto loved Sakura for 699 chapters and then we magically see NaruHina happen in 700, and they don't even interact! Same goes for SasuSaku. We just see their kids. Kishi even needed a fcking movie to make NaruHina seem believable because it had NO development. I am really disappointed in this manga I've loved for so many years and that is ruined for me now. In the end Hinata and Sakura got what they wanted, Sasuke, the villain and antagonist, got the girl hero and main character loved. Naruto failed in win the heart of the girl he loved in the end, just like Obito and Jiraiya. Great message there, Kishi. Minato and Kushina would be so devastated seeing this BS, they didn't die for this sht. RIP Naruto the series and Sakura's character development. Never reading anything by Masashi Kishimoto ever again, what a bad writer.

The ending was good, Naruto is not a Shoujo manga of course you wont see
love development in it. And about "Sakura's character development" I have read many mangas of different types and it shocked me how Sakura is very dead and pushed as main character while throughout the series she was a filler character.

Yeah , I agree that Naruto is not a shoujo manga , so Kishi didn't put much about the romance . I also agree with the ending is too rushed , but I think in the last movie they will make something related to NaruHina.
But , I'm happy with this ending , because i'm part of NaruHina Fans :D

@Mio-Desu Bless your comment, I totally agree with you. And I'm not saying this because I'm a NS fan, I never shipped any of the three main pairings because they were all bad developed. This ending was extremely rushed, inconclusive, senseless and full of plot holes and not just about the romance stuff. One of the worst endings I've ever read in my whole life as a manga reader. Only the major part of SS/NH shippers find it wonderful for obvious reasons. Strong relationships don't need extra material to show how much two characters love each other, throughout 700 chapters Kishi had all the time in the world to show us Naruto and Sasuke slowly falling in love with Hinata and Sakura but everything was delayed to chapter 699 for SS where Sasuke magically realises his newfound love for Sakura while 2 seconds earlier didn't give a fu*k if she lived or died and to The Last Movie for NH where Naruto does the same with Hinata when a big bad boy kidnaps and wants to force the poor damsel in distress to marry him. If this doesn't look like a bad written fanfiction, I don't know what it is, seriously. Is this still Naruto or a latin soap opera?!! We could as well summarise this atrocious ending with few simple words: "How to murder many good characters and their development (Sakura development in particular) with a single shot."

Guys please, don't lie to yourselves. Naruto may not be a shoujo but romance had definitely more importance in the plot than a series like this should have had. Kishi decided to put romance in his manga, so it should've at least make sense. If he didn't want to he could've followed Oda's example and put no romance at all, given that as himself stated, he's no good at it. In the end he just sold himself out to the fandom's will and made SS/NH canon but with almost no development choosing the easy solution of the time skip.

Although is was rushed at the end, I mean... They ARE making a movie solely focused around Naruto and Hinata... So.....

^ And just as I said before, strong relationships don't require extra material to make sense, everything should be perfectly explained in the manga (Kishi had a bunch of time to decide how to develop their bond in a believable way given that he stated to have planned NH for a very long time but I hardly think so, it seems more like the rushed decision of a last moment) but it isn't because Naruto's feelings development toward Hinata is all off screen. This means the manga is kinda incomplete and good manga should be complete by itself.

This is what I don't get about the angry "fans" at the ending : "They had no development!!"
I don't know? Weren't they like, fighting a world wide war vs an alien and 2 uchiha who were threatening to put them to sleep for the rest of their lives? I think that everyone was a liittle bit busy there to care about romance. Don't forget that Naruto is mainly about action, adventure and friendship. It's a shonen. Why is the romance being bad/not to everyone's taste make the manga automatically crap and horrible?

Why care so much about who Naruto got to marry in the end? After being shunned by the others for his entire childhood, Naruto found great friends and teammates in Sakura, Gaara, Pein, Konan and many others, met his parents and found what great people they were, was accepted by the previous and actual hokages of Konoha and the other villages, finally beat some sense into his friend and bringing him back and achieving his dream of becoming a hokage, a hero and harbinger of peace with the power of his ancestor (whatever his name was) and the fearsome power of his talk no jutsu :) I repeat that this is a shonen, action and aventure is the main focus and romance is just a bonus and was saved for the movie.

The last chapter wasn't about the romance either, or that's how I see it. It was to show that a new generation of ninjas was born and ready to pick up the torch. The fire of konoha is still burning like the 3rd said. That's why there were so many kids and many parents. Konoha, the rest of the villages and the characters are at peace and happy Tenten is not included lol. Kishi wanted to show us all of that alongside Naruto being a responsible hokage and a father and having a talk with his son. That's why the epilogue was set after a timeskip which resulted in the ending looking rushed to many readers.

^ Because when I read a good manga (and Naruto was a good manga when I started following it until shortly after the Pain arc) I expect an ending that makes sense in every of its aspects, romance included. It may be not the main focus of the plot but it was Kishi himself the one who decided to include it so it's just normal if people are complaining about it given almost all the pairings came out from nowhere. I don't care about who ends up with who and BS like that, but whatever are the ending pairings I just want them to have a good development. FT is a shounen too but pairings are developed in a great way, unfortunately Kishi wasn't able to do the same, he just gave the fandom what they wanted to see. Btw the plot holes I was talking about are not all about romance, that's just a small part.
Just a few examples: what happened to Orochimaru?!!! Was he actually redeemed or not? Didn't he want to witness Sasuke's new wind? And what about his plans about Sasuke's body? What about Team Taka? Sasuke totally forgot about them or what?!!!! Mei and Anko became fat and frustrated women just because they didn't get married (Kishi and his chauvinist ideas... ), poor Neji was sacrificed just for NH to happen, Sai obviously became a Sasuke replacement for Ino, Sakura regressed to her 12 years old self and ended up becoming the housewife of a man who did nothing other but humiliate, hurt and insult her in every possible way (destroyed character development, she should've just moved on on her sick masochistic love for the Uchiha boy and focus on her life as a talented medic and eventually find a man who knew how to respect and treasure her). Naruto and Sasuke who suffered so much because they lost their beloved families, seem to never be at home neglecting their wives and children because of their own priorities......
    Atrocious, simply atrocious.

Now I don't want to start an argument, but I'm stuck to my opinion as much as other people are stuck to theirs. This will be my last comment about this topic, sorry about the long rants, farewell.

^It is your opinion and I respect it.

Kishimoto addressed Kaguya's origin and the other loose plot points in an interview. He said that it was something he decided to not address and left an open end for it (by making Sasuke explore the world and investigate). Many thought Orochimaru would be the final boss but I guess Kishimoto wanted the last fight to be Naruto vs Sasuke (and honestly I'm glad they didn't address Kaguya's story, that whole thing was so out of nowhere it was hilarious).

And oh please don't get me started on the whole "they're housewives!!" "Naruto is neglecting his family!!" I bet you think he's an alcoholic like some do right? We saw like what? 18 pages? The mangaka had to squeeze everyone in those 18 pages, of course you won't see much of Sakura or hinata and what is EVERYBODY doing with their lives. So why is everyone blowing this out of proportions? Mito has always been complaining about men. Anko is fat, so what? she's still a teacher, she's still Anko. I'm not promoting obesity here but in real life this can happen. The ending is not as bad as you think (because what could be really bad is that famous fanfic circulating that everyone are still under the infinite tsukyomi, or that horrible, horrible headcannon of Naruto cheating on his wife because apparently he doesn't look happy.). You're seeing things which are't there. What makes you think that Naruto and Sasuke are neglecting their families? Sasuke being in that forest can mean anything, ninjas's missions can take up to weeks if not months, does that mean they're being neglectful? Naruto is a hokage, he has responsibilities to take and peace to maintain. You would have preferred if he ditched the meeting and went playing with his son? C'mon, he grew up and is not that immature.

Also, Kishimoto himself was honest and admitted he's not that great with romance so I can't see why everyone is surprised.
