^ Actually Neji x Hinata makes more sense, since it has plenty of hints in the original and the alternates too. Plus, I believe Hinata was the person Neji cared about the most, since he made the ultimate sacrifice for her.

I've never seen the slightest hint with Neji and Tenten, anywhere.

^ They're not siblings but cousins and in Japan marriage between cousins isn't considered incest. As @Raganore said under another picture:

"The creators have proven many times that they DON'T consider it incest. Neji has a crush on Hinata in "Rock Lee's Springtime Of Youth" (watch particularly episode 17 if you want to find out) and he pervs on her in "Road To Ninja" too, which means the creators don't consider Neji/Hinata incest. (Because in Japan cousin couples are not considered incest like in the western world)."

There are huge hints that Neji loved Hinata (the last one was his sacrifice to protect her) and that Ten Ten likes Rock Lee. You can like NejiTen more of course, but still this pairing has no hints at all.

^ I don't really care what makes sense. I just think NejiTen is adorable. And he saves her countless times :3 Like when they're fighting Kisame for instance. That one was adorable for me. Hee I never really cared for NejiTen because I do kind of still find it wrong that they're cousins for one. Even if it isn't considered wrong in Japan. And don't forget in Road to Ninja it's the opposite of what it's really like~ :3 And he said in the manga his sacrifice wasn't just for her, but that both her and her would give their lives up for Naruto. He also tells him Hinata would die for him, where as it now seems NaruHina is extremely likely to happen. And I never saw any LeeTen but I guess it's cute? :P You can ship NejiHina but to me NejiTen is much cuter.

    ^ First:

Neji had reasons to die for Naruto: Naruto changed Neji's way of life. What reason did Neji have to die for Hinata other than that he loved her? (it's ambiguous in what way, but since the anime team and creators always joke he has romantic feelings for her both in "Naruto SD" and "Road To Ninja", that's extremely likely).

Second: "Road To Ninja" isn't quite "opposite". It's opposite for the characters' personalities, but not in their feelings. Hinata still has a crush on Naruto in "Road To Ninja", Sakura still likes Sasuke.

Third: Neji and Tenten had never had any significant interaction in these more than 10 years since the show is running. That's why Kishimoto didn't even bother to give Tenten a reaction about Neji's death. Tenten was more worried about how devastated Lee was.

Neji was briefly shown to help Tenten once or twice, but Neji helped a lot of people, because he's a good team mate and person.

Fourth: Neji always watched over Hinata and had Hinata as his first priority. He chose to fight next to Hinata in the greatest war of their lives. He showed Hinata that he was beside her, especially when he comforted her by putting his hand on her shoulder when she was worried, and she immediately brightened and smiled when she turned and saw him next to her. Neji was practically desperate and devastated when Hinata was hit by the enemy and he couldn't save her. The look on his face showed that Hinata was indeed the most important person to him. Neji told Naruto that Hinata was willing to die for him, that's why Neji was willing too. Hinata's will was Neji's will.

Maybe you think NejiTen is more cute, but I definitely seem to think the opposite. The thought of an older, protective, harsh guy possessive over a younger, sweet, gentle girl is 10 times more appealing than two team mates getting together. Plus, all signs show that Neji indeed preferred sweet, submissive, calm girls like Hinata, than tomboy, tsundere girls like Tenten. Neji wouldn't most surely stand having a tsundere as a girlfriend.

And there were plenty of LeeTen signs, whereas there were zero NejiTen ones. Not even in Naruto SD, where tons of couples are joked about, there is still zero NejiTen. Instead there is a hell lot of NejiHina and LeeTen (e.g.: Neji imagines Hinata is his lover, Neji has a nosebleed and faints when he hears about Hinata's ****s, etc, whereas Tenten gets angry and jealous when Lee doesn't notice her at the beach and notices Sakura instead).

    What Neji's sacrifice really meant:

First of all, "Neji's sacrifice" symbolizes the good change of his outlook in life which Naruto made a huge role for this good result. The part where Neji sacrificed his life for the people he loved represents what he is willing to give to "somewhat" pay for the mistakes he had done in his childhood. As all of you should know, a character in "Naruto" only gets more recognition when Naruto himself made a huge contribution at a certain person's life. And as to Neji's situation, the most important matter that Naruto helped fix is his issue with the main branch of his clan. And THIS highly involve Hinata. And THIS is where the part people get the idea of "NejiHina". But let me explain it to you. Since Neji didn't understand why his father sacrificed himself for their clan, it caused Neji's hatred for his clan. And thinking that the soon-to-be-heiress "Hinata" (which the whole clan had to protect) is the reason for the death of his father, he poured all his anger to poor innocent sweet Hinata. He despised her and the main branch for this, because he didn't understand then what it means to protect the people you love. But Naruto changed this perspective of Neji and finally realized his father's legacy. Which later on shaped The Neji he has become. He dedicated his life protecting the people who loves him and he loves as well. What I mean by "love", I mean the kind of love in any form. And for Hinata and his clan, it is the kind of love you give for your family. Not the one you give to your girlfriend or boyfriend which involves a lot of kissing and dating. I DIDN'T mean that type of affection when I said the love he gave for Hinata and his clan. Clear? He then dedicated his life to his clan because first of all, it is what his father had done which represents love and loyalty. Second, it's Neji's way of doing good things back to those wrong actions he made. Third, it is mostly to Hinata that he have to give his first priority because she is the person who struggled most because of his actions. And fourth, if he has to protect his clan, then it means he should protect the main branch that leads to the heiress. Even though it's not yet official that Hinata is going to be next Clan head, she is more likely the one to be protected the most because she is still the one they go after. And because of that it somewhat became Neji's duty by heart to protect Hinata. So the chapter where it goes down to three of them ( Neji, Naruto and Hinata), Neji would really sacrifice his life for those two because it is like he owes his life to them. Naruto changed him, and Hinata on the other hand withstand his actions in some ways. With the help of Naruto, Neji understood and realized what really happened and what he had done. It is because of Naruto that Neji sees his clan as his FAMILY. Hiashi stood as Neji's father figure while still seeing him as the upper one when it comes to his clan. That's what he shows Hinata too. He respects them as being part of the main branch but still sees them as FAMILY. He calls Hinata with the honorific "sama" which stands for someone higher. And Hinata calls Neji with the honorific "nii-san" which means older brother. So, see? Hinata sees Neji as a brother and I'm sure Neji sees Hinata like a little sister to protect. So even if in Japan it is okay to be romantically involved with your cousin, let's not forget to look at it in a different way. The right way. Neji and Hinata's situation is more than just cousins. They are brother and sister in their own way. And there's a deeper reason why others see cousins "to get romantically involved" to be wrong or not to be acknowledged. I believe that it is because when you are already a family (siblings or first cousins who are very very close blood related and live by the same name and clan), you already have that bond and you should take care of it that way. And if you consider the Springtime of Youth episode where you say "Neji has a crush on Hinata" as a NejiHina moment, well please be reminded that Masashi Kishimoto did not make that. It is not even a part of the Shippuden episodes. It's only the work of the anime team to give some people what they want. So I therefore conclude that it's not canon. It did not happen in the Manga. In other words, IT'S NOT THE REAL THING- I hope you get the same hint for the Road To Ninja where you say "Neji pervs over Hinata". But remember that it is the opposite that happened in the actual world. And as I remember, in the actual world, Neji protects the girls from being peeped/ perved by Naruto. In the real world, it can be heard from the other side that the girls are talking about Hinata's large chest/breasts. The boys can hear what the girls are talking about and this worries Neji. He warned Naruto not to do anything foolish like peeping on the girls on the other side, which only gave Naruto an idea. So, if you would make that parallel to an exact opposite, then what would happen is that Neji pervs on the girls or as you may say to "the standing" Hinata at that time. And we're not talking about feelings here. Yes, it is true that their feelings remain the same in that alternative universe but that part where Neji pervs really does not concern any romantic feelings. It only shows an exact parallel (opposite) to that situation. It was never even clearly stated who Neji is peeping on but Hinata caught him. And if the anime team and the creators joke about the "NejiHina", I'm pretty sure that it's really just a joke for more fans to buy what they sell. "You know what I mean". Some people wants NejiHina so give them what they want. It's called Marketing you know.

Also, if you say that the anime team does not consider NejiHina as not incest, well I think not. You say Neji pervs on Hinata, then it means it's the opposite of not being incest or keeping their relationship just as siblings/cousins or Neji not wanting to cross the line where he should respect Hinata as his sister/cousin/family.( Definition of incest : sexual intercourse between persons so closely related that they are forbidden by law to marry; also : the statutory crime of such a relationship.) His peeping on her (as you imply) is not a feeling but rather an action, where you do those kinds of things exact opposite to a close cousin/sister. And consider the fact that Neji is the protective and righteous one, then peeping is the opposite of that. So if the anime team portrayed it that way then it means in the real world they proved that NejiHina is not to be romantically involved with each other.

And if you want NejiTen proof, go look for it and you'll see.

Also, Masashi Kishimoto made a prolouge for the Road To Ninja movie. Search for it for proof. Then you'll see at the first part of it, Neji and Tenten are planning on going to the hot springs or what ever they call it. They are actually the first from the Konoha 11 to plan to go there. Neji and Tenten spends time too together outside of training and missions.

^ dude, Neji and Tenten don't have ANY proof. They barely had any scenes together, let alone proof.

Sort of not related to above arguments but..
I think LeeTen is more appealing.
Before Lee met Gai, he wears some kind of chinese-themed outfit. Tenten wears chinese themed clothing so...I kind of ship them together.
Not to mention, in RtN movie, Lee steals Tenten's undergarments AND wears them. (-_-").
Of course, this is but my opinion.
