Index is a runaway nun from Necessarius, otherwise known as the “Church of Necessary Evil”, is an underground magic branch of the Church of England. Despite his rather small and petite appearance, Index holds the infamous “Index-Librorum-Prohibitorum”, a collection of 103,000 grimoires or magical texts that were personally removed into circulation by the Church seeing it can be a threat and used by evil. Due to being confined throughout her life, she is oftentimes ignorant and yet curious at the same time of modern technology. Although people may see her as gentle, kind and polite, Index is remarkably that of a spoiled brat when it comes to Toma. She easily jumps into conclusions especially when it comes to Toma when he’s dealing with other women. When she’s attacked, her self-protection system, John’s Pen, kicks in. With John’s Pen, she is able to perform high class magic attacks: St. George’s Sanctuary, Dragon’s Breath, Spell Intercept and even the deadly Sheol Fear.
