Inazuma Eleven GO is a Japanese sports manga series both written and illustrated by Tenya Yabuno about a team of football players making it all the way to the championship.
Inazuma Eleven GO got serialized in the Coro Coro Music intended for children and adults who are passionate about the sport. It started publishing since November of 2011 and it still continues as of today.
Katsuhito Akiyama, the man behind all-time favorites like Thunder Cats, El Hazard and even Monkey Turn, will be directing the anime adaptation of Inazuma Eleven GO.
Together with OLM Studios and TV Tokyo, Inazuma Eleven made its appearance on May 2011 and ended on April of the following year with 47 jaw-dropping episodes. Inazuma Eleven GO is actually the sequel to the first sensational big-hit Inazuma Eleven anime series.

PLOT:

The story takes place 10 years later after the very first Football Frontier International in the first Inazuma Eleven series. Japan and what used to be soccer has changed since the 10 years that have passed to the point where people loses hope and their reason for playing soccer.
Now, soccer in Japan is being controlled by a mysterious underground organization known only as the “Fifth Sector” under the dictator rulings of one Ishido Shuuji, commonly known as the “Holy Emperor.
The Fifth Sector dictates whether a team should win or lose losing the entire essence of what true soccer used to be.
During this dark times comes a hero, Matsukaze Tenma, an aspiring first year who loves soccer and blessed with exceptional dribbling skills. Despite his rather obvious gifted talents, he still has lots of room for improvement.
Tenma joins the prestigious Raimon Jr. High who was well-known for its soccer back when they won the first Football Frontier International.
In hopes of making a name for himself in soccer, he joins Raimon soccer club only to witness the team despairingly lose against a mysterious opponent who came out of nowhere.
Overcome by the loss, numerous members left the team leaving only Tenma and a few players. Tenma is determined to bring Raimon Soccer Club back to its former glory.
Together with his newfound friends and teammates, they aim to free soccer from the clutches of the Fifth Sector so that everyone can finally play soccer that was meant to be played.
Thus begins the rebellion against the Fifth Sector but fret not as Raimon High will not be alone in this fight as unexpected help from the “Resistance” organization and previous characters from the original Inazuma Eleven join the fight to free soccer once and for all.



CHARACTERS:

Tenma Matsukaze is a midfielder and later became the captain of Raimon Soccer Club. He is shown to be remarkably nice, caring and friendly.
Due to his strong sens of justice, he oftentimes is seen standing up for what is right no matter who the opponent may turn out to be.
His passion and love for soccer sparked 10 years ago when Gouenji, the former striker of the first Inazuma Eleven, saved his life.
Growing up, Tenma has always looked up to Gouenji even to the point where he decided he wanted to go to Raimon High and join its soccer club, the very same school which Gouenji used to go to.
His passion for soccer is no joke; in fact it’s so intense that you could even compare it to Endou’s passion for soccer, the former captain of the first Inazuma Eleven.
Despite his rather optimistic outlook, he never fails to stand up for what he believes in no matter who they’re up against with. He tends to overdo thins when it comes to soccer that he usually ends up hurting himself during training.


UPDATE:

Inazuma Eleven GO has been one of the more accomplished sports anime out there.
In fact, OLM Studios released a sequel entitled Inazuma Eleven GO: Chrono Stone which featured 51 enthralling episodes from April 2012 to May 2013.
Also in the works was Inazuma Eleven GO: Galaxy, the third part sequel of the big-hit anime series, Inazuma Eleven GO. The show ran for 43 mind-blowing episodes from May 2013 until March 2014.
2 animated films were released in conjunction to the series Kyukyoku no Kizuna Gurifon and Danboru Senki W which were released on December 2011 and December 2012 accordingly.


Other similar shows to Inazuma Eleven GO would include Inazuma Eleven, Captain Tsubasa, Hungry Heart Wild Striker, Area no Kishi, Aoki Densetsu Shoot, Ginga Kickoff, Giant Killing, Whistle and Akakichi no Eleven definitely fits the description as a sports soccer anime.
