Every girl dreams of being an enchanted princess where she gets saved by her own prince charming and live happily after.
But, how many stop to think about all the grim and grisly things that actually happen in fairy tales?
That’s one thing Tamaki Kasuga has to discover for herself.
She finds herself revisiting a small village she vaguely remembers in her childhood. Tamaki is supposedly gone to love with her grandmother while her parents are away on business overseas.
While waiting for the person who was supposedly sent to get her by her grandmother, she wanders off to a world quite different from where she came from.
Not soon after, she gets attacked by slime creatures and a mysterious young man, Takuma, rescues him not a minute late.
She is then taken to see her grandmother where she explains to Tamaki about the destiny she is to fulfill.
Turns out, she is actually an ancestor of the esteemed Princess Tamayori and it’s her duty to seal away the sword Onikirimaru with the help of her five guardians (Takuma being one of them) before the evil organization Logos gets their hands on it.
Tamaki Kasuga is an ancestor of Princess Tamayori whose duty is to seal away the sword Onikirimaru. She is shown to have strong faith faced with a situation that is despairingly hopeless. She later falls in love with Takuma after realizing that they were lovers in their past lives.
Takuma Onizaki is the very first guardian who Tamaki met. He is eventually hated by Tamaki for his rather cold demeanor and attitude towards her. He soon discovers that he is a reincarnation of the Underworld God and Tamaki is her lover in their past lives.
Mahiro Atori is Tamaki’s classmate who turns out to be one of her guardians. He is a descendant of the “raven” which allows him to control the wind.
Yuuichi Komura is also one of Tamaki’s guardians who turns out to be a descendant of the legendary nine-tailed fox. He specializes in using illusions and spirit fire.
Suguru Oomi is the acting leader of the guardians, albeit unofficial. He is a descendant of the snake which allows him to control fire.
Ryou Kutani is the real guardian of the Inukai family. He acts by his lonesome doing whatever he pleases. He has the uncanny ability of finding Tamaki wherever she goes which is partly because of his powers.
Shinji Inukai is the youngest guardian in the group. It was later revealed that he isn’t actually the true guardian of the Inukai family. He was actually spying on Tamaki and the others giving information to the Logos.
Hiiro no Kakera: Dai Ni Shou is the second season of Hiiro no Kakera which was produced by Studio DEEN with Director Bob Shirohata.

Tamaki soon come to terms with her feelings for Takuma and has decided to be with him despite being partly demon.
On the other hand, Takuma continues to struggle with the “monster” inside him trying to prevent it from taking it over.
Logos and its compatriots have decided that Tamaki and Takuma are proving to be the biggest threat to their plans.
They are willing to do anything and everything they can to separate the two.
Everything becomes clear as the past is shown to them.
All that’s left is to clear the way for a bright future for the two, that is, if it’s still possible with all the things happening around them.
