It wasn’t long after that teamKG and Hoods Entertainment studios developed the anime adaptation entitled BlazBlue Alter Memory.

BlazBlue Alter Memory’s short run ended on December 2013 with 12 breathtaking action-packed episodes.
Madman Entertainment and Funimation Studios licensed BlazBlue Alter Memory for a North American and European release.
BlazBlue Alter Memory is set in December 2199, a time when the streets are full of anticipation for the end of the year and the start of a new one.
Following the end of a series of deadly and devastating magic wars, humanity eagerly awaits the dawn of the new century.
Out of nowhere, word spreads that Ragna the Bloodedge, an SS Class Rebel with the highest ever bounty on his head, has suddenly appeared in the 13th hierarchal city of Kagatsuchi.
Ragna is determined on destroying the system that is apparently controlling the world behind the shadows.
To collect the bounty on his head, a group of ragtag fighters from around the world come together to stop him and the Ars Magus (later known as the Azure Grimoire) on his hand.
Ragna the Bloodedge is a wanted criminal with a magnanimous and extraordinarily large bounty on his head amounting to trillions actually. He is nicknamed as the Grim Reaper and has been feared by the NOL , a multinational task force who keeps the balance in the world by regulating sources of unimaginable power and that includes Ragna. He possesses the most powerful form of ars magus called the Azure Grimoire or later known as BlazBlue. He wields a rather unusual sword called the Bloodscythe.
Jin Kisaragi is a former Major and the 4th Thaumaturgist Squadron Commander of the NOL who also happens to be Ragna’s brother. Unlike his brother, Jin is cold, aloof and a borderline sociopathic. He wields the Mucro Algesco: Yukianesa sword and is able to control the element of ice creating a series of blades with it to fight for him.
Noel Vermillion is a former lieutenant of the NOL who was assigned to Jin Kisaragi. She is extremely self-concious wherein it comes off as shy, clumsy and tends to get worked up over the smallest things. She wields the Arcus Diabolus: Bolverk revolvers.
Rachel Alucard is the current head of the Alucard vampire clan. She is one of the most powerful beings who acts like your stereotypical high class individual, oftentimes looking down upon others with boredom, arrogance, snobbery and apathy. She uses her familiars Nago (black cat) and Gii (red bat) to fight to do most of the fighting for her.
Taokaka is a highly respected warrior of the Kaka Clan. She is a happy-go-lucky cat girl who only wishes the best for her family and friends. She relies on her inborn instincts as opposed to a trained fighting style. What she lacks in strength; she makes up for in agility and speed trying to catch her opponents off guard.
BlazBlue Alter Memory is actually based on the video games BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift.
BlazBlue gave birth to a number of manga spin-off series including the one written by Toshimichi Mori and drawn by Sakaki Yoshioka.
It was later published in Fujimi Shobo’s Monthly Dragon Age magazine.
