@Ireland What? Arthur represents England/the UK because N. Ireland, Scotland and Wales are too noisy (or something like that) to come to meetings. Ireland's not part of the UK.

Northern Ireland is a country (offically) and is apart of the UK. Ireland used to be part of the UK aswell, but then tons of wars and fighting and Ireland had to sell N.Ireland for Ireland's freedom. Thus now the Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland. Wales and Scotland is also apart of the UK And England has been shown in hetalia to be a repersentation of the UK / Britian. thats all I know.

When you say the United Kingdom, it means the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland.
The term Britian does not mean England. Britain= England, Scotland and Wales.
England is just chosen to represent Britain- but is in fact only one part of it.
Another reason could always be that during the war, other nations said Britain over England, because there was the idea at the time that everyone collaberated as one for the war effort.
Sooo, as a result, when I get 'are you British'? I say 'yes, and I am from England' :) -
